Sherlock Parties!

I'm thinking of inviting my Sherlockian friends round for a BBC Sherlock Party!!! Any ideas what I could do??? Include anything from drinks, food, games, decor - anything you think might come in handy!! If you've had one or are planning on having one, let us know! Who knows, we may inspire others to have some and everyone will be thoroughly SHERLOCKED!!!! :D

Re: Sherlock Parties!

I wasn't at the German forum meeting, but I think people basically just brought typically British foods. You could bake scones and have cream tea, which is very Britsh, though not typically Sherlockian. I'm trying to think what kind of food was seen on Sherlock so far, but I can only come up with tea & biscuits, fish & chips and typical English breakfast (toast, fried egg, baked beans, sausage).

One thing I would try to get is this:

In Germany you can buy these eyeball wine gum things, but usually only around Halloween, although I got this one just last month in a winegum and candy store in Mönchengladbach. Though it looks like you can also buy them as (inedible) balls: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Amscan-International-Favor-Ping-Eyeball/dp/B002TURQOM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1398588786&sr=8-4&keywords=eyeball

Good luck!

Re: Sherlock Parties!

In terms of decorating, you could try to make a part of your place look like the interior of 221B. Maybe print out the Sherlock wallpaper over several A4 pages and stick them together to put up a strip of that on your wall (from top to bottom, just one strip). You could try to somehow pin a yellow smiley face to your wall, or recreate the blue skull picture on the wall. If you have enough budget, you could try to buy a human skull as decoration.

If you have an armchair, get a blank like John's, or a cushion or pillow case with the Union Jack.

Sorry, that's all I've got.

Right, I found those eyes during Halloween in every supermarket. But also later on in a big store for toys.
I thought I posted a pic in here http://sherlock.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?id=3732&p=1 , but obviously I didn't.

So here it is (again?):

Re: Sherlock Parties!

Mattlocked, it's great

Shelrock Party? First and foremost, you should change your house/flat number for 221b Then, drink from measuring cylinders (or take long glasses and make them look like ones). Play the guessing game Sherlock and John played in during John's stag night. I did, it's fun!

A quiz! You should definitely have a quiz, and a really hard one if possible.
