Probably quite accurate, when it comes to that day    I didn't know it was yours, I've seen so many similar ones already, sorry.

Re: German air date

Wow, nobody seems to write to the Zuschauerredaktion, they are really fast...

What I wrote:

Liebe ARD,

XXX

Their answer:
Sehr geehrte Frau XXX,
Zugegeben, very british.
Daniela Zivanovic

Now, this is clearly a form letter and not a suited reply to your very thoughtful words, Solar

Yep was mine. I wonder how much will be different... But when translating it, it already felt completely different to the original theme.
When watching the old episodes in German now, it feels like the dubbing is some kind of wall holding you back from the real thing.

Funny answer again from ARD... why british???
Distance? There is no distance between them, they couldn't be closer!

Zweikanalton? Will they send English sound with it? I can switch at Entertain but for the old episodes there is only German subs no English sound.

Re: German air date

Right. I am really tempted to write back once again and ask what exactly this "Spannungsfeld bladebla" is supposed to be...

Re: German air date

Yes, please!!!

They got it totally wrong. It still hurts me that it took me 4 years to finally see the real feelings between Sherlock and John!
In the very first episode there is some sort of distance. In the second they are good friends but not yet close, in the third they are very close already.

And wtf does this f*cking british(ness) mean? How can it be british to be distanced if there is not even a form for "Sie"???

Would like to know this as well. I really can't discover this meaning.

Re: German air date

Okay, I wrote back to them again, but the problem probably is that the Zuschauerredaktion certainly doesn't have that much insight into the translation process. You'd have to write directly to the people who do the translation...

Re: German air date

Btw I am still interested if that guy at the interview of Moffat, Gattis and Sue in the audience was part of the dubbing team.

Re: German air date

Okay, let me tell you what my colleague (she knows Benedict and "Sherlock", but isn't a huge fan) just wrote to me in a mail after I complained to her about Sherlock and John still saying "Sie" in S3:

"Ach was, man kann Sie sagen und trotzdem knutschen"

Isn't she just lovely?
