And I'd say you would win that bet.

You could be right, Susi.
And Benedict treat everybody the same way ... fans ... journalists ... I mean the way he dresses ... that anybody is jealous because he dressed different.

I'm beginning to seriously doubt that the man even owns a wardrobe!
Nice to see him, though - I'm having a hellish day hope there's some interesting Hamlet news to lift me a little!

He's swamped bless him! No word yet on discussions on what is being said....I'm trawling twitter as we speak!0

Oh I'm sad to hear that Tinks. Truth be told I'm so busy at work I shouldn't be on here but this is important! And hopefully will cheer you up!
Hugs! X

I would love to catch a glimpse of the socks he's wearing though...!

Confirming what we already knew...
@mstorijo: Well that was exciting. Morning conference at @guardian is full of surprises. Mr Cumberbatch is adorable.

Aw, thanks Clare, now that has put a smile on my face

By all accounts the chat is already over! I think the paper will put something out later about it. Fingers crossed!!

I'm afraid to say I think we won't be hearing anything much.
Today's chat was, according to twitter, strictly off the record at Benedict's request.
If I hear any more I will let you know. But I think we are gonna have to wait until May.

Aaaaw no! But hey we did get a picture... gosh, he must really, really love that shirt!

Even that's been taken down from twitter now.
It's a fair enough request. By all accounts there wasn't anything new said. He might give an official chat to the paper later maybe? We shall see.
Offline
But then I wonder why he went there at all. So many people just for having a nice chat about something everybody knew before?
Offline
It is fair enough, but I do hope something will come out of it...
could it be damage control btw? I mean about the 'girlfriend' rumour? I don't know anything about those sorts of things

But then he would not have been there with Lyndsey Turner.
Tbh, I am getting a bit tired of having being baited and then everything being kept secret again. This has been going on for months now.
I am not criticising Benedict but all those people throwing bits of information at us.

I know from German newspapers or news agencies that sometimes celebrities pay a visit to the editorial office for maybe 30 minutes, just to chat and have a look around and maybe get into contact with certain people there. But mostly there also is an interview involved.

Maybe they have their reasons for this sort of secrecy. But he was there with his Hamlet director, this can be no coincidence. Sorry, I am just tired of waiting for scraps and bits of information. And people from the "inner circle" baiting fans with information and taking it back some minutes later.

Yes, that gets on your nerves by the time.

This may very well have been an informal chat about what media access there would be for the production, or maybe the Guardian are sponsoring? Basically nothing relating to the actual production or cast or anything else. Could be someone tweeted he was there who was supposed to keep quiet, not realising that twitter then goes into meltdown!
I think it's contractual stuff as much as anything that controls what info is released and when. I know it can be frustrating, but looking around different fandoms, it's not just Ben it happens with.
