I think he has that effect on quite a few people!

I'm looking at that pic and I'm thinking 'b/w, b/w, b/w...!!!'.

Oh I prefer him in glorious technicolour!

How awesome! He's such an action guy! I love that he lives his life to the fullest! (While my mother instinct hopes he's safe)... Yes, I'm 24 and a bit of a motherhen about him...
Gosh that neck... that way his hair is... and the heart, he got it right even! Aaaw!

To get it out of your head again you have to do it.

Just found this - of course nothing fixed, they just seem to have offered him the part, but it might be interesting.

I am so hoping it happens!

I would so much rather he do this than actually be cast as Bond.

Me too!

Yeah I got very excited when I read about Fleming. He would suit that character so much. And it's a great story.
And it would mean more sharp suits and '40s haircuts. The thought of this pleases me greatly.

I agree. So let's keep our fingers crossed.

I've been reading through the According to Benedict site and one of the most recent posts has had me in tears. It's about Radiohead's How to Disappear Completely. And the carjacking Benedict was involved in after "To the Ends of the Earth" finished filming. I knew about the incident, I knew this song had been playing when it happened. I knew it had a special meaning. But I hadn't listened to it until last night.
And oh my word, it's the most hauntingly beautiful song - in that context - you're ever likely to hear. I was crying by the end of it, because I was listening and I could almost see the whole thing happening.
I actually cannot believe Ben ever shared this song with anyone, it's like opening a window and letting everyone in on it. On something so big and terrifying and life-changing, life-affirming.
Listen and you'll understand.

Yes, just listened to it and i could almost feel the fear and panic he must've felt
It seems to have been part of how he dealt with that incident; to talk about it as much as possible.
I got slightly annoyed once when an interviewer wrote about him speaking about it as though he was rambling on about every detail. I just thought: give the guy a break; it's obviously had a huge impact on him, and if you didn't want to hear the answer, why ask the question?!
I think Ben's song choices say such a lot about him, generally, but this must be impossible for him to listen to now.

He's very pragamatic about the incident.
He possibly feels a tad guilty, cos it was he who insisted they travel back that night, rather than making the recommended daytime trip.
But then he was unwell...
He also sensibly received counselling.

I guess if Benedict does play Fleming, he might want to move away from biopics for a while after that, but I'm watching a biography about Cary Grant at the moment and thinking that Benedict would play him perfectly!
Offline
Oh yes, he would...! He'd have to work on his accent then, of course... and I always thought that George Clooney would make an excellent Cary Grant, too.

Benedict seems great at mastering accents
Cary Grant's story was an interesting, and at times, quite sad one - I'd like to see a well made Movie about him.
You're right - Clooney would be good in the role too; in some ways, Benedict reminds me of George.

I think the resemblance is pretty striking at times...

Hey everyone!
Little bit of twitter news to share for you all. A chap called Jay Rayner who works for The Guardian has just said the Guardian Editorial Conference (I've no idea what this is!) will be busier tomorrow because a certain BC will be there!
So I am hoping for news/chatter and pictures. If anything surfaces I shall post here!
