Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Well okay that sounded a bit wrong... It didn't make me happy as in laughing, but I found the movie so beautiful so a piece of me became... I don't really know how to explain it. Hahah Ben makes me loose my words...

I suffered from watching Third Star for about 4 days..

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I think I get what you mean by 'happy'. Honestly when I watched it, I was down for weeks... I cried for an entire day; but it was such a beautiful movie, it's changed my outlook on life actually!

Thank you for the beautiful pictures you posted while I was at the library... I've just put Parade's End on... Aaaah I'm so excited!

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I think Third Star is a very very special film. It's my favourite piece of his work so far if I'm honest , thinking long and hard about all his roles, his portrayal of James is heart breaking and beautiful.

His life, his death, his outlook and attitude, his friends. All resonated with me and changed me. Sounds dramatic but it's true, I've never seen a film that has left its mark like that one. Life is short.

Exacly! I didn't cry that much actually, I find it hard to cry at movies, I don't know why... But the message in the movie, and the way Ben becomes his role... He's just fantastic.

I sobbed like a baby and have only been able to watch it once.
However I was happy to have seen it in the sense that all of Ben's work makes me happy.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I often cry when I watch movies... but nothing has made me cry as hard as Ben... he is so good at acting that it becomes so real to me.

I'm bawling right now actually. Oh poor, poor Chrissy!

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I love the Third Star pics and although it seems to be a sad tale, there seems to be a good vibe about the making of the Movie - I wonder if they're all still in touch?
I'm finally going to be able to make time to watch it tomorrow

You'll need tissues and some comfort food for it. Just be prepared to really feel James's pain, I know I did. I might watch again on Thursday when I've some time to myself. I've watch it five times now. Just adore the characters, Davy and Bill as much as James. I always feel inspired by the end.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I'm going to watch it again as well... Last time I watched it was when I worked on the painting I sent to Ben with the socks... I almost cried on it. Not good when you work with water colours...

There's so many beautiful shots in it, the characters are well written and well played. And so many beautiful pictures of it posted in this thread!

I think I'm going to take it with me when I stay with my mother during Easter... She might like it (Even if she hates Benedict... something I'm trying to change!)

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I'll stock up on chocolate and tissues for tomorrow evening then and post in the thread about it after I've seen it to let you know what I think!
He chooses such thought provoking roles that some of his stuff I probably won't ever be able to watch - 12YAS, for example - but I think I'll be able to handle Third Star.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I cried my eyes out when I watched TS for the first time... I cried my eyes out when I watched it for the second and the third time... and so forth... it makes me laugh and it makes me cry every single time I watch it, it makes me feel good and bad at the very same time. I think only very extraordinary films are capable of doing something like this to me...
So let me give you a b/w James...

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Same here, clare. This film works perfectly on so many levels... and Benedict is truly amazing. He practically makes me feel James' pain... but I guess that belongs to another thread.

Instead, I think someone asked for this:
