He does, gently - maybe the cameras flashing make his eyes look a bit tired sometimes, too.
Hopefully he can get a bit of rest at home after these cons

Agreed. I really hope that all this event stuff will be over for a while now. Even if he's charming and funny and all that during those events and we get great pics... I'd just love it if he got back to his real work soosn. Maybe after a few weeks of real holidays without any new pics for us, I wouldn't mind.

Agreed Solar I could look at him all day but I'd be happy to see nothing of him at all for a few weeks if it means he's recharging and catching up with loved ones before filming begins on his next Movie!

Behind the both of you on this one. He really needs to take a breather, a real break, maybe go on a totally non-work related holiday. Well, one more public appearance tomorrow, and then next weekend in Sydney. I think the whole city would be there for the latter!

Sydney next weekend...? See, I didn't even know about that one... or forgot. It's a bit of an overload, quite frankly... I'm sure he is very professional about all of this, but I've almost come to a point where I hope that there won't be a Sherlock convention this year...

Here're some update from dudeofugly:
Hi. yeah no. don’t worry. I know the initial post sounds a bit worrisome but a bit of context was missing.
just talked to someone who was at the panel and at the meet and greet and this is the gist of it (taken from BC’s replies in the panel AND the meet and greet - i.e. some things were only said at the meet and greet at a specific table - he possibly elaborated at other tables additionally):

- it’s not depression. he was very clear on that! he assured he is completely fine and dealing well.

- He said he wanted to know if he was dealing with fame ok and just wanted the all clear.

- He said he just finds it hard still to imagine ppl want to pay to talk to him.

- He said he loves meeting the fans and that we’re not weird and he gets why we want photos etc but he loves just sitting down and talking to fans seeing them as real ppl and then he doesn’t feel so weird.(more on this also here)and then he got into a staring contest with the folks at the table and stole their cheese!

Sounds like he's enjoying himself finally getting to sit down with fans and talking to them like real people do.

Well, I hope this doesn't sound too pissed or anything (and this probably isn't the right thread for this anyway), but IMO he maybe shouldn't continue to do conventions if those panels make him feel too weird. I get what he means, at least I think I do, but the fans he's sitting down with at a meet & greet table aren't anymore real than the fans who are at the panel. I can understand why it feels different to him, but still... would I like to be one of those fans at a convention panel who make him feel weird...?

Having just read thru the previous pages, I see what everyone means.

It's a real "rock and a hard place" thing because we all want him filming something, and then on the other hand we all think he should have a break. We all want to meet him, then again we all want him comfortable, happy and not overwhelmed with fan experiences.

I would like to think Ben would only agree to do things like this and Elementary (and hopefully Sherlocked) if he wanted to rather than through duty.

All I will say is, from the stories coming from Adelaide, I thought he seemed to enjoy himself and has become my role model and hero.

Now you sound as if he'd make a difference between fans and fans, but I think he's only making a difference between those situations. And I'm fine with that.

Yeah, I guess that's how it sounds, but it's not what I meant.
So I'll just say that I'm hoping he's doing the things he's doing because he really wants to and because he enjoys it - clare already said this in a very articulate way - and not because of some external necessities. And now I'll shut up.
