Yes!! Brilliant! Where to send them? Do they have to be self-knitted? Eek, can't knit... And what do your hubbies look like when you get answers for them???

No need for them to be homemade; most of us bough our socks for him!
We're all trying to get them to him around April 1st.
And if you send them, end your note with 'Member of the CumberSocksCollective'

Hey, lovelies. This thread seems fun, never really stumbled across this but today. But could someone be so sweet as to explain to me the proper meaning?😁
Maybe it would be a good idea to add a short explanation in the very first post of the thread, just in case other people stumble across it who didn't follow the initial discussion in the Benedict picture thread...?

You can contact Benedict by writing to:Benedict Cumberbatch, c/o Conway Van Gelder Grant, 3rd Floor, 8-12 Broadwick Street, London, W1F 8HW, England
I've copied the above from Polar's post earlier in the thread.
I've got to be honest - I signed my note but didn't add my address as I didn't really expect him to have time to reply, so no worries about my boyfriend thinking I've gone mad!!
I'm just going to keep a close eye on his feet to see if he's wearing them!
I'll be thrilled if anyone does get a reply though!

I've sent mine today!!
I did enclose a self address envelope (wishing...)

Have we all sent off then ladies??
When I took mine to the post office the lady behind the counter was like "is this the real guy?"
I said "yeah. There is only one!!"
Ended up explaining the whole thing to her - she thought it was brilliant!

That's brilliant!!
Yep - I reckon mine should be there by now - wonder when he'll get them?
So excited to see if he wears them!! :D

Aaaw!
No one at my post office thought any of it... but when I bought my socks and mentioned they would be sent to England so no worries on returning them the girl there said "So, your boyfriend is English then?"

To which you replied 'Yes', of course.
Tee Hee.

I just blushed, smiled and walked away...
I think she was a little confused after that, poor girl. She was lovely! Although she did pull the same number that I heard someone pulled on Ben and instead of one pair I walked home with 3.

Is it weird that I bought a pair of striped socks and one with dots today that I will wear in honour of Benedict? I don't usually wear coloured socks, since at work I usually have black leather shoes to go with my business casual look. But I might just get away with the more subdued dark green and grey stripey socks I bought today.

Funny, isn't it? I also recently bought striped and dotted socks. Wouldn't have done this without Benedict's ... influence.

Not sure if I should show you my collection I received two days ago......

I have loads of patterned socks! Plain ones are boring!
Yet another thing I have in common with him....

What's worse... mine are men's socks. (Yes, I have rather big feet.) In my defence, both pairs together were just 5 EUR.

I sometimes wear mens socks when they are obviously too big for
me.
Then again, as far as I'm concerned they should be just differenet size socks.
I don't recognise these silly distinctions between mens and womens clothing....how can most clothes have gender?!
