This may be a bit of an unusual thing to do, and it is entirely based on my own stupidity, but I figured why not turn something daft into something nice? So now I'm randomly giving away a brand new DVD set of "To The Ends Of The Earth" to one lucky person, because I was half-witted enough to order it twice and can't send it back because I already opened the shrinkwrap.
What do you have to do to receive the DVDs? Nothing, other than just reply to this thread by March 29 (this Saturday), and with the help of an internet randomizer I'll randomly pick a "winner" on March 30. I don't want any payment or reimbursement for them. I'll even cover the postage (standard shipping in a padded envelope).
Why would I want to do this? I'm not even sure, but I know that I'd rather see the DVDs bring joy to a fellow Sherlock/Benedict/BBC drama fan than being hidden away uselessly in my cupboard. And because I'll happily spend the few Euros if I know it'll make someone's day. Plus, I was lucky enough to get a bonus payment at work this month, so I'm in a generous mood.
For those who don't know, "To The Ends Of The Earth" is a BBC 3-part miniseries from 2005, and an adaptation of the trilogy of novels by William Golding. Next to Benedict Cumberbatch, it also stars Sam Neill, Jared Harris and Jamie Sives. You can find more information here:
The only caveat is: The DVDs are the US edition, so there's an English language track only and no subtitles. As for the region code, I am 99.9% sure the DVDs are region free because my laptop's DVD drive is region-locked, and it plays the DVDs just fine. I have also tested it on my laptop at work, where they also play without asking for a region code change. And just FYI: They are full screen (4:3) format and not widescreen.

Last chance, folks. I'm gonna do the "prize draw" tomorrow. EDIT: I meant Sunday, not tomorrow.

Wait, I've got my own timeline all wrong. I'm gonna do the draw on Sunday. Apologies for the confusion. Too many things going on at the same time.

All right, I have put all five names as a list into the random.org website, and the winner would be the person ending up at the top of the list as no. 1.
*drumroll*
And the winner is.......... sj4iy. Congrats!
(Is it weird I feel bad for the ones who didn't win? I wish I had a DVD set to give to all of you.)
