Hello Sherlockians!
I’m Xini, 19, from Vienna/Austria. Nice to meet you all!
Now, let me briefly explain what Sherlock has done to me:
I’ve never been a “fangirl”. There have always been TV shows, movies and books I liked more or less, but I always found it a bit weird that some people get so passionate about stuff like that. I used to roll my eyes at people who claimed they “loved” their favourite actor (because that’s childish) and, honestly, one cannot be sexually attracted to a voice, I mean, seriously, that’s just ridiculous…
So, that was until A Study in Pink aired on Austrian television last summer. 24 hours later I had purchased Season 1 and 2 on DVD and spent the whole day watching one episode after another. And that’s where it started. I am so obsessed with Sherlock, I can’t even describe it. I have reached the point where I could write essays about the characters and what I think their feelings and motivations are. I draw fanart and occasionally write...something similar to fanfiction. I can recite whole dialogues by heart and once I told my mum I was a high-functioning sociopath when she urged me to clean the breakfast table. And that’s not even a joke.
Then, of course, there’s Snugglebert Cheddarcheese, erm, Benedict Cumberbatch, who has infiltrated some strange part of my limbic system (a part I used to be rather unfamiliar with). Which brings us back to the voice.
(Seriously, I nearly had a seizure when I found out that Benedict and I have our birthday on the same day. And if I talk about the perfection of his cheekbones once more while drawing his profile all over my sketch book, my parents and/or friends will most likely have me institutionalized.)
I suppose I have successfully lost my mind.
Anyway, I’m excited to learn more about this forum and meet some nice people here.
xxx Xini
P.S. Sorry for English mistakes… My native language is German. ;)

Hello Xini, and welcome!
I can relate.. I´ve never been much of a fangirl, too, but Sherlock made me completely lose my mind ^^. I´ve never before spent so many hours watching a TV show and reading and writing about it on the internet.. I guess you found the right place with many like-minded people!

I've done this with Alan Rickman, he was my first (). And still is the number one, Benedict is very second.

Oh, Alan Rickman. I mean, he's basically the god of deep, amazing voices... He was, in some way, my first too. But then Benedict entered the screen and I just... it's different.

Oh, we Rickmanians...
His voice is truly awesome, but Benedict's isn't too bad either.
And by the way, hello Xini, nice to meet you.
