I feel a tad guilty, actually.
But wonder if the stories are a little old for primary school kids?
We do have a graphic novel of HOUND in the library.

That's lovely, besley
I shouldn't feel guilty - I think you're right and the book may just be a little too old for the children, and you could always gift it on to someone else after you've read it.

That's what I feel even more guilty about.
I won't actually read it!
I mean I already have my own ' Complete stories of Sherlock Holmes'.
I just wanted this edition because it's pretty.
It's one of these nicely bound ones.
We do have a set of beautiful bound chilfdren's classics, in our librray.

Oh I see!
Aw, don't feel guilty about it - it was a lovely gesture to give it to you and I've a hunch you'll appreciate it more than the library shelves will

To me it sounds a lot like they intended to give you some joy, maybe including also a little thank you for your work

I was in the library today and noticed that the remaining 7 classics have been delivered there and are awaiting cataloging.
I had a good look at the childrens set we have and only then remembered Hound of the Baskervilles is amongst them!

Whoohoo, my boss just handed me an envelope. I earned a "spot award" for a project I was involved in. Not only is it nice to get recognition for your work, but it also means an extra month's salary. How very, very cool!
I kinda feel like wanting to spend it on something special, but I'm not sure what. I'm tempted to look at a new laptop, but then again, I don't really need one. The one I have is four or five years old now, but it still runs smoothly and I like its specs (except for the fact that it could be a lot faster). Well, my mum might need a new one cause she said hers isn't booting up anymore, so perhaps I could use that synergy and give her mine while I get a new one for myself? Hm........

Woo TeeJay that is fantastic news! That sounds like an awesome idea to spend your cash!
This probably belongs in the 'Weather' thread... but I can really feel spring is here. Earlier today I was sitting myself up by the window and saw the cutest thing; a flock of children running around playing in the sunlight and a young couple enjoying themselves; the boy playing guitar and singing to the girl. Aaaw!

Great news, TeeJay!
We just returned from the hospital because it looked as if my son broke his wrist on the playground, but everything is fine and all he needed was a big plaster. Phew...
Now he sleeps and I´ll need to watch some Sherlock to calm me down..

Aw, I'm happy to hear it wasn't more serious! But poor thing though! I hope he'll heal quickly!

Aw, thank you Phantom! *hugs*

I've been informed we will get a bit of the money back we're spending on our own transportation for some of the Eurovision work!
It's not much; but it's something when you can barely pay the rent! Yay!
Oh, and I have my first job tomorrow night... have to pick up some important people at the airport!

I had a BLAST last night! The pick-up at the airport went smooth; the Head of Delegation, was so human and just fantastically easy to talk to. We ended up talking for hours at the reception... and I got to talk to a lot of the other important people as well. Everyone seemed to be on the same level and that really baffled me. In a good way! And it's always nice to be told how important you are *giggle*.
They told us that people involved with the Eurovision become a family and I can really see that now. Everyone just talked like old friends! I am so happy I'm doing this! It will be an expensive experience as I won't be paid my social security while doing it, but who cares!
And my back was perfect the whole time through! Well, until I was on the train home... but I had been so worried it would give me trouble at the event, and it didn't! And I've made an appointment with my doctor on the 28th... hopefully this will help.
I don't know... but I feel so alive right now!!

Bit of good news. Some of you know that I'm working in admin in Manchester City Centre. Since it's been a month, I had my first review on Friday. The director told me that he's got no problems with me at all, and that I'm doing really well I also found out my job title recently: Energy Accounts Administrator ^^

I was just told that we get free transport while working for the Eurovision! Yipeeee! This means a lot for my economy! Public transport is so darn expensive! I might be able to afford food now!
It's such a beautiful sunny day outside...
aaaand in 35 minutes Ben will appear on my TV-set in Miss Marple!!
Today is a good day!

Well, today has turned out to be an emotional one for me.
I came home from work today, to find that I had received a message from my auntie who I haven't been in contact with for 11 years.
We are planning to hopefully meet up, and I couldn't be happier. I was so young the last time I'd seen her, I can't wait to sit down and tell her all that's been missed!

That's great rebecca. I had a similar experience a few weeks ago when I met an old school friend again. We were really close back then but lost contact after a while and hadn't been in touch for several years. I am glad to have him back in my life. Have a good time with your aunt.
