He is the only actor that I've ever had a mad compulsion to draw/paint/sculpt...his face reminds me of the pre-raphaelites...the unique lips...those piercing eyes...he really has such a classic look...*sigh*

I wish they'd let him have his hair slightly shorter for Sherlock - I like the curls but think it's a bit too long.

I adore drawing him. He's so difficult to do because of his amazing features but that makes it all the more of a challenge. I'd like to do another one but then that would be three I've drawn and my hubby already thinks I'm obsessed.... Oops.

Funny I feel the same way! I love drawing portraits of him. Such fascinating features, and the eyes are just so much fun to draw, and it gives me an excuse to stare at him for a few hours.

I was taught to keep the heels down, and at anything but the walk, to lean forward a bit to keep my center of gravity forward in the saddle. Also, why is he holding the reins that way? As a right-handed person, shouldn't they be in his right hand? I always rode Western, as he is here, and was taught to hold the reins in the right hand, with the ends of them trailing off to the left. Admittedly, that was 40 years ago.... maybe horses have changed since then, lol. But yes, it's nice that he enjoyed learning to ride. I wonder if he has any time to ride anymore. If nothing else, it's a good skill to have in the movie-making biz..

It's quite odd, and I think that's their intention. I'd love some backstory about why he wears it that way, but the writers don't spend much time on backstory, not for anyone.
