Huge apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, but I didn't see it when I browsed through the topic. Feel free to smack me if i missed it. Don't worry, you won't cut yourself; I have chipmunk-cheeks.
At any rate, a convention-running organization called Starfury is sponsoring a convention in honor of BBC Sherlock, as well as Sherlock Holmes in general:
I wish they'd chosen another name in light of the US series, and I wish it was taking place in London instead of Birmingham, but still -- a Sherlock convention! :D As soon as I heard, I squeed and flailed and impulse-purchased a gold membership, since I'm already scheduled to visit the UK then. I'll be attending dressed as Christmas Glamour Fail Molly and probably Jennifer Wilson (dead pink lady) plastered with Sherlockian deduction labels. I hate pink, but one must make sacrifices for The Work.
So, is anyone else maybe planning to go? Even if they can't round up many actors from Sherlock, just mingling with other Sherlock-holics and enjoying the creative cosplay on display would be splendid, I'd imagine.

sherlock.boardhost.com will be the perfect phorum for anyone who wants to know about this subject. You know a lot its practically difficult to argue with you (not that I really would want). You absolutely set a whole new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Fantastic things, just excellent!

Starfury just announced that Louise Brealey (Molly) will be attending as the first guest.

Hi folks, I haven't posted in ages (sorry, too busy with local SH club and other things), but I'll be attending this in Feb. Anyone else coming? If Benedict doesn't cancel his appearance and if I can get a photo with him, I think I'll just die from thudding.

sue vertue @suevertue 44sFor those asking, as far as I know, #BenedictCumberbatch isn't doing a #sherlock convention in February.

Benedict's agent also confirms he won't be attending.

Well apparently he's attending after all. I'll be sure to take a thudding mattress with me!

Sorry. I'm so out of it since I have been mostly off the forum for some time. Where is this, exactly?
Thanks.

It was an unofficial Convention this weekend in Birmingham/UK. With appearances of f.e. Louise Brealey, Lars Mikkelsen and Ben. People could buy a foto shoot and autographs. There were also some Q&A.
It was said (by Ben) that there will be another mytery film with him, but he couldn´t talk about it yet.
I like most, when Arwel Wyn Jones said: "The single rose in Sherlocks room (in the hospital) is from The Woman".

From Arwel Jones. 'The single rose was from The Woman, and there is a secret message in the graffiti at the drug den.'
Jonathan Aris. 'Anderson ripping the cuttings from the wall and falling to the floor was unscripted.'
Question from the audience to Lars 'Whose face would you like to flick next?'
Lars (as CAM) 'and your room number is?'

Well folks I'm back and I'm suffering from a severe bout of what I'm told is post con depression. I had never been a fan of anything before Sherlock and this was my first convention, but specialists have assured me that the only cure is another convention, so I'll sure try and go to the official one.
I particularly appreciated the exchanges with Jonathan Aris, he is so modest and funny, I have become an Anderson fangirl. I asked that question about the ripping off scene when he answered it was unscripted. Over the next few days I'll write about the convention on Facebook, you can find me there as Martha Hudson.
