Now that most people have seen at least the first episode of Series 3, maybe we can have a poll to compare all the series.

It pretty much doesn't matter what they come up with for future Sherlock shows. I will always be in love with Series 2. Reason = I love the concept when Moffat explained it somewhere in an interview = "The Hound, The Woman & The Professor".
Those 3 episodes will always remain cult classics no matter what came before or after them

I voted Series 3, but to be honest it was a little hard to pick.
But Series 3 was the first thing I saw of Sherlock (Yes, really late... I ignored the show on purpose because I was scared of getting addicted). So it will always be my first love I suppose.

As much as I loved series 3, series 2 has two of my all time fav episodes - Adler, and the Hound. But they're all brilliant!

That's a good question. And I voted for S3. All series had their ups and downs, also S3 had. But I am a fan of further developed characters and emotional stuff. I love the interaction between the different characters in the last series and also the funny parts. And because I'm not into canon that much also any differences in the stories don't bother me.

I chose series 2 - I love every episode, each is very intense in its own way and made me think a lot.
Next would be S1, last S3.. have not seen HLV though, maybe that changes my mind again.
I am not too much a fan of emotional stuff. S2 had just enough (subtle) emotions for me, S3 was a bit 'in-your-face' about it, methinks..

Zatoichi: Can I just say that you have the best user name ever? I've seen some of the live action films with English subtitles. Best character ever invented

For me its series 3, maybe because it was the first one I saw in original version without dubbing. Maybe because of the hiatus... But mainly I think because of more emotions and a different Sherlock... It touched my heart.

Series 2: 100%, series 3: 99%, series 1: 98%

Oh! It's so hard to choose between Series 1 and 2, but I picked Series 2.

Voted Series 2 as there was more casework.

WIth a tad of advantage over series 3 I voted for series 2.

Deffinitely series two for me. The Hound and Scandal are my favourite episodes.

This is really hard for me to answer, because of the way I went into the series. I joined the party quite late, when series 2 had already fully aired. So what happened is that I watched series 1 and 2 on Blu-ray pretty much in a row. I think watching any show that way makes the series kind of blend togther, although with Sherlock only having three episodes per series, it's not that distinctive an issue.
Right now I'm inclined to say I liked series 3 best, but that might be a biased view because there was all that anticipation that built over two years, and there was so much excitement over finally having something new to discuss and fangirl over.
I feel the middle episode in any of the three series is the weakest one, and I think I felt that most strongly in series 1 and 2. In other words, TSoT wasn't as week in the overall scheme of series 3 as TBB in series 1 and THOB in series 2.
So in nutshell, I'd have to go with series 3 as my favourite so far.

Eeek, this is tricky ...I love them all! But overall, as a whole, I'd say that series 3 is my favourite. I love the character development and emotional expression in it , that series more than any other made me love Sherlock even more. I absolutely love and adore the other two, but I loved all episodes of series 3 in near equal measure while in the first and second (eventhough I adore all the episodes) there were episodes I loved significantly more than the others...so my vote goes to series 3.
