Well this is it...my first ever Benedict/Sherlock fan-art.
Not happy to be honest, could do better.
What do you think? Honestly?

Honestly? A really great start, a tiny bit too sweet, perhaps. But: Kudos!

Sweet....good advice I know exactly what you mean
I'm not happy with it. At all to be honest. Shall try again soon.

Well, I for one think it's perfect. I like him sweet! Great job!

I think it's fantastic! I can't draw to save myself.
Since you asked for honest feedback, I think the main problem you've got with it is his mouth and the fact that his face has no expression. His face always has an expression. Maybe that's why it looks 'sweet'?

I don't see why you are not happy "at all". IMO it's very well done and I recognise him immediately. My first try looked *slightly* different.
I experienced that one somehow "gets lost" while drawing, so having someone else who can take a look at it or even just look at it again after a break the next day really can help.
Therefore I'll give it a try:
If you still want to improve it... hm. The back of the nose seems a little bit too broad and "flat", you could add some more shadow on both sides.
The nose is also maybe a tad too long.
The mouth may be a LITTLE bit bigger, but I'm not sure.
More/deeper crinkles. On the left and the right from his nose down to his mouth. (difficult to explain).
More shadow under his lips? "Crinkles" on his lower lip.
His right eye (from his view) seems to look straighforward whereas the left seems to look a little bit more downwards.
I compared your drawing with this picture:
You see, one can find something if searching for it, but as you also can see I always used "a bit", "a tad". So IMO there is really not that much to improve. I really like it, it's good!

Thanks guys, as I say there's all sorts of wrong with it, I don't know if I'll try this one again or try another one.
He's got a bloody hard face to draw, how can you replicate perfection?!

No matter what you do, just keep on!
