Verner/Werner or Vernet?

Please, have we got ANY official confirmation on the doctor's name that John identifies as the 'normal GP' for the birdwatcher/librarian?

Hrm I'm not sure where that is, but if it's the options you've posited, it will probably be Vernet, as that's a name out of canon. Sherlock's grand(mother?) was a French artist named Vernet

It has been transcribed by Ari as 'Verner" but I wonder if it could be a canon nod.
