Wait--I'm confused. Just because it's been "plotted out," that doesn't confirm there's actually going to be a Series 5--has the BBC definitely confirmed there will be? Sorry to get semantic, but I don't want to get my hopes up in case it's not really true (yet).

I'm really unique. I'm completely satistfied with nine episodes in four years.

Okay, heck -- I'm lying. I wish there were enough episodes for me to keep watching a few each day until I die of old age in a few years. Hell, I'm 65, and the wait can't be that damn long. But at the rate of three every two years I'll have to live until I'm too old to qualify for Obamacare!

Yeah, Swan, I think the same. It will mainly depend on the availability of the actors... especially the boys could be a problem.

I'm so glad series 5 will be made as well, because the 4 one has been quite certain The more Sherlock, the better! If only the quality of the show is still on the same high level as presently, they can do even 10 more series, I have nothing against it!

I hope they just film them all at once. That way they can have, like, regular seasons. I mean...C'MON! Even they have to realize the equasion of time waited vs. amount delivered is REALLY OFF.

Well, but it is like getting three feature films in two weeks. The Sherlock format is quite special and quite cinematic. Besides it would be very difficult to ensure the quality of scripts if they did more in less time.

Exactly. I think it would part of its appeal if we got 10 or 20 episodes per year. Apart from the fact that Benedict und Martin surely would not be willing and/or able to do that.

Yes, you are right. I already heard of several actors being fed up with a series because they were doing a role all the time and because of that didn't have any other challenges. Then it gets boring and they leave the shows.
I want especially Benedict and Martin to have fun doing Sherlock as long as possible. And if I have to wait longer then... that's how it is.

I agree.
But I'd prefer if there'd be at least some weeks between the airing of the episodes 1-3.
Waiting one - or even two - years and then get everything presented within 2 weeks is kind of.... wasted.
Are they afraid we might loose track otherwise?
