POSSIBLE SPOILERS _ DISCUSSIONS
DON'T COME FORWARD - NOT SURE IF SPOILERS OR NOT SO BEWARE.

I needed to discuss some points that I have been researching for some time and of course about the first episode. No point doing research if I can't post - so here goes.

I'm sure I must have missed something. but anyway I am going to watch again. Did I miss something about Sebastion Moran or was it a subtle red herring. I know that an attempt was made on Sherlocks
life by Moran in ACD classical 'The Empty House' and I know a dummy was shot [Guy Fawkes is classed as a dummy]?? However, because Jim Moriarty is supposedly dead the only other master criminal around who could organise a stunt like blowing up the Houses of Parliament is CAM. Please tell me if I missed something comment on the following.

My money is on CAM - he was a colleague of Jim's and wants revenge.

Sebastian was only a hitman for Jim. (he is not a Master Criminal he is an employee in the large network of criminals, many who are specialists, it would have taken to organise the train bomb)

Blowing up 'The Houses of Parliament' is a Master Plan and is planned to coincide with Guy Fawkes Night. Master Plans are carried out by Master Criminals...

The Mastermind behind it (Who now that Jim has gone has to be CAM - if we are to stay loyal and faithful  to the Canon).

Killing those close to be Sherlock would be revenge for killing CAMS's close colleague (Jim). (That's what the Mafiosa do as standard form.)

Killing John in a bonfire is ironic because Jim made enough 'threats to burn' also it was unfinished business for Jim to blow up John after the swimming pool scene.

Having a false body in a coffin (e.g. as Sherlock) relates to a short story in The Canon  'The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax' where her body is placed in a larger coffin with and old woman: she survives because Sherlock rescues her (albeit  with some brain damage)

You may also have observed if you had read the concluding two pages of 'The Dying Detective'  that Holmes had to convince Watson that he was a dying man by the use of three days fasting, belladonna drops in his eyes and beeswax around his mouth as a sort of deathly makeup. He also had to keep Watson away from taking his pulse and temperature. He also tells Watson that he could decieve him (a medical man) at four yards into thinking he was dying.

The gold glasses in the end scene, [of episode one of the new series] on the observer relates to (classical) CAM's description [A perpetual Frozen Smile and two keen grey eyes which gleemed brightly  behind broad, 'gold rimmed glasses'.]

I thought that episode one was absolutely brilliant as always, and the fact that the intrepid writers made use of a popular fan-girl theory was a fitting tribute to the most dedicated fans in the world.
