God forbid that there would be a woman (other than the Woman) who can survive without a love interest. Inevitable that Molly needs a boyfriend, too.
If you look at Picture #14, I find the idea of Molly in a relationship quite interesting - especially if that ring on her finger is an engagment ring and the guy in the picture is the 'fiance'. He seems to be a Sherlock look-alike so that could open all kinds of funny emotional or phsycological moments in the story-line. Weren't some of us remarking that John's ex-girlfriend, Jeanette, had some features in common with Sherlock?

Lestrade, for example, seems perfectly fine without a love story going on.
And yet I would love it if the Silver Fox could find someone who truly appreciated him.

Maybe what Be ist trying to say is that this is something we see far too often in tv shows... sooner or later every woman needs a love interest, it's just not enough for a girl to have a job. For me it doesn't even mean that she is not emancipated enough, it's just a bit... predictable. Because it happens all the time in tv shows. Nothing new, you know?
But then again, it's also important how the writers incorporate it in the show, and with "Sherlock" it might indeed be something... new and unusual.
But isn't this also like real life? In my circle of friends there are people who've been married a long time, newly single people, long term singles who enjoy dating. You never know when someone is going to show up at a party with a new love interest.

OMG! Am I seeing right? Is that John at 1:05? With MM beside him? Unhappy and sleepless? Shades of the opening scenes in ASiP with a different twist now....
