I love the tux, but I'm old, so I probably like a more staid, old-fashioned look? No idea. Love the burgundy, the brocade, the details of pintucked shirt, finely woven vest, onyx studs, interesting tie. Reminds me of something the character Rhett Butler would have worn in Gone With the Wind, lolol. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. Benedict is like fine champagne, stuck in a box with all the bottles of beer, IMO, and this outfit shows that off. He shines.

Actually in the US we call it sparkling wine, since legally if something is called champagne here in this country, it actually has to have been imported from France. But... whichever.... he really does sparkle, doesn't he. In an expensive, classy way.

Oh I love the tux too! There's something so classy and old-fashioned about it , and I didn't think of a Rhett Butler comparison until you said so! The suit really does feel like something he would've worn!  Gone with the wind is one of my mother's favourite movies, so I saw it many times growing up.

Oh... this I could save as my signature.
Although - there's nothing wrong with a good bottle of beer sometimes.....

Where's that quote from?

"To fake the death of one sibling may be regarded as a misfortune; to fake the death of both looks like carelessness." Oscar Wilde about Mycroft Holmes

"It is what it is says love." (Erich Fried)

“Enjoy the journey of life and not just the endgame. I’m also a great believer in treating others as you would like to be treated.” (Benedict Cumberbatch)

Which one, the champagne among the beer bottles one? Something I made up. Sorry, I know maybe you meant some other quote.
