This is wonderful.
I like the moment in 221 B in ASiP when John asks "How?" and wants to know how Sherlock can read him. Sherlock smiles and turns around and doesn't say anything. "Shall I tell him?"
I imagine he is not sure whether it is a good idea to explain it to John right now. I imagine he has made a lot of bad experiences with explaining deductions if they are personal. The moment in the cab is possibly chosen by him because John has to stay in the cab and can't run away immediately.
