I'd say raspberry, but it's just a hunch...

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Oh, I love that second video! Loads of love for him

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dean - "I'm not happy about it. But I got to move on. So I'm gonna keep doing what we do...while I still can. And I'd like you to be there with me."

Sam - "I'm your brother, Dean, if you ever need to talk about anything with anybody, you got someone right here next to you."

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Looks like he's saying "Stop it"

Where's a video of all the lead up to his acceptance? I've seen his acceptance but not the presentation.

Have a look at this site, Wholocked.

And this is my personal favourite from Britannia:

"To fake the death of one sibling may be regarded as a misfortune; to fake the death of both looks like carelessness." Oscar Wilde about Mycroft Holmes

"It is what it is says love." (Erich Fried)

“Enjoy the journey of life and not just the endgame. I’m also a great believer in treating others as you would like to be treated.” (Benedict Cumberbatch)

Thanks for the warning, Susi, I'd already seen some of them this afternoon, but seeing all those pics all at once... wow. I especially like the one where he's getting up (probably to get his award) and Ralph Fiennes is looking at him.
And seeing him talk to George Clooney... well, Clooney has been producing und directing some pretty good movies in the past ("Good Night and Good Luck", I love it!), I'd really love to see Benedict do a project with Clooney in the future.

Hmmm...what a thought! Everyone goes nuts around here when Clooney shows up to work on a project.....one can DREAM, right?

He was looking particularly gorgeous at the awards, methinks

Why did John let him have a blow torch? That's just asking for trouble...

Actually, I'm dreaming quite a lot when it comes to projects I'd love to see him do or actors I'd like to see him work with. (Btw, do we have a thread for something like this...? "Projects we'd like to see Benedict be a part of"...? )
For example, now that I've seen him do this short scene from "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead", I'd love to see him do the whole play. I also think he would be great in a cool role in a Steven Soderbergh-movie. And my list goes on and on and on...

Mrs Hudson: "They don’t matter. You do."

Lovely, gracious speech, and he looked like a million bucks. I *love* seeing big US stars like George Clooney (for instance) watching him, listening to him, liking him, etc--  Ben's career is zooming into the stratosphere, and it couldn't happen to a nicer, more talented person-- it's about time Hollywood sat up and took notice. I teared up when he thanked his parents and spoke of them-- as the parent of two adult sons, I know how rare and precious hearing something like that can be. But finally, too bad I'll never see that movie. I've read that the violence in it is "almost pornographic" in nature, so I know I could never bear to watch it. But I hope he wins every award out there.

I think this it totally exaggerated. There are lots and lots of films and TV shows that fare more brutal and gory. What you see here you will get in the average Bruce Willis action movie (only with a more superficial story).

Everyone has to decide for themselves what they consider entertainment and what they don't. But generally speaking, if something is historically fact based, I have a whoa!harder time than with something that's full of CG fantasy violence. Each to his own. I *might* be able to see the slave movie later on, on DVD, when I'm free to FF over the violent bits. But I will never be able to bear it sitting in a movie theater.
