At the beginning I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. But then.... It's a nice piece.
The main theme is John and Sherlock meeting again after TRF, discovering their feelings for each other and then trying to keep up a relationship. Which is not so easy for both of them as Sherlock is very.... sherlocky. And that's what I like in fanfiction in general.
There is a bit of everything. Sex and fun (and sex) and problems, violence, one or two cases which I can't remember and also a lot of romance.

Summary:
Post-Fall, nearing the end of Sherlock's three-year "death". John has been dating Mary for the last few months, but he is still far from himself. The return of Sherlock changes John's life entirely, and the detective finds himself feeling things he thought long deleted.

“No. Say it. Did you miss me?” John felt his pulse throbbing in his brain. There was something heady about the idea of having power over Sherlock Holmes.

Hm, maybe I need to give it a second chance sometimes. I also didn't know if I liked it or not, and then I realized that I don't and stopped reading after about 30% or so. I don't usually stop reading a fanfic, but I couldn't stand this one any longer.

First of all, I think that John is very out of character, then I must say that some of the topics are not researched very well. For example, Sherlock delays his withdrawal from cocain by smoking ordinary cigarettes a lot. When the next chapter started with a note like "Oh, it's late, I did not proof-read the chapter or did research, but I want it to be online now" I quit.

Yes, that was one point why I didn't like it at first. He is.... quite violent, right?
I can fully understand that you stopped. As I said, at the beginning I didn't like it much, either. Later on I felt it was better, but then I maybe got kind of "used to it."
I still like the part when they have to try keeping up their relationship, but I think you didn't read that far.
Thank god there are more fanfics in the net than time to read...... So which one will be your next?

After watching so much Firefly this week I will give the crossover "Shadow and Light" by ShinySherlock a try. And then I have downloaded many of Kerkerian's stories, I'm looking forward to those.

You can go ahead and read all of "Be Here Now" and be happy. Just don't start on the sequel "Kill Switch" yet if you're easily frustrated by WIP.

"Be Here Now" is one of my favorites already. Have read it 3 times.

Oh, "What He Deserves" was so emotional for me. Even though there was only a tiny bit of Mary as a character in the story, the author made me feel John's love for her.m

That is a really well done one imo, they really wrote the characters - especially the Firefly ones - particularly well. I just wish it was longer! But either way, I quite enjoyed it
