Yes, isn't that great? I was very surprised when I first noticed. He also sometimes has really funny parts in Parades End. Did you notice his face in his last scene with Sylvia? I love it!

I also love John's "You were gonna blow me up!" line. I found that very powerful!

Susi, all those pics are really fantastic! They immediately make me think of Bogart and films by Robert Siodmak (and lots of other directors). It's amazing what you can do by just taking the colour away...!

First I have to make them lighter as they are quite dark. Then I take away all the colour and the warmth to gave them the old-fashioned look. But then Benedict really has the right face for that.

Yes, he does! In the pic above he looks a bit like the typical film noir broken hero.
