Easy to miss if you're not paying close attention.

Just as an aside: Is it not strange that most essays and articles claiming a non-sexual strictly *romantic relationship between the boys were written pre-series 3? (Which does not mean that there are not heaps of subtext before that but still).

That is a very interesting point, thank you for drawing our attention to it. I never paid close attention as to the publishing dates.

Thank you, I didn't need my heart anyway....
What I like about this thread is that we not (only) drool about Johnlock being something sexual, it is more often way way more. It is about true love.

Yes. And this is nothing that should be belittled in comparison to non-sexual friendship.

Amen and pass the biscuits.

YES! I love that too. It really is so much more beyond that. I mean, I don't hurt for them for not doing the deed, my heart aches because of the great love that they have for each other. How they care so deeply, love so deeply but none of them can see it from the others perspective. I don't need it to be explicit love making, I will squee even more when they finaly just get it!

You are so right, Lazarus.
And I never got why some people constantly need to stress how much better and more valuable and special a non-sexual friendship between them would be... where is this coming from? Both kind of relationships are special and wonderful if they happen between the right people. The thing just is that I'm not seeing any (excuse me for using the word) "bromance" between Sherlock and John. If other people are seeing it, fine. But why do they feel the need to play one thing off against the other? I'll never get that.

Oh no, look at Sherlock's face in the last gif...

Fine. I was quite happy until this moment.
As for the other subject we discussed: I think some people simply cannot accept the idea of sacred Sherlock Holmes being in love with a man. Full stop.

Agree wholeheartedly. And the find of a pair of actors with the most sparkling chemistry - more sparkling and interesting than any other chemistry on this show - was a gift.
And I'm not saying that there are tons and tons of pairings on screen who can pull off a convincing love story. But these two could.

Yes. And the fact alone that it has never been done on screen should be an incentive for Moftiss.

Yes, he loves to do things differently, "Doctor Who" is proof of that. And he basically invented Jack Harkness.

Oh, yes, lovely Captain Jack.
