Re: German air date

Oi, Mattlocked, hold it right there! I think the horses are going through with you. ()
Let me quote our favourite villain: No rush. Let's wait and see if they really proof to be worthy of our "du". I guess we should wait for... yes, two more series.

That's a good reason for going on producing.

Re: German air date

Now I cannot wait to see it.
Still wondering if there will be the english Tonspur... because it is not with the first series which they showed at least not on Entertain, but they are always writing about Mehrkanalton...

Great minds think alike.

But here's a shocking thought: What if they just switch to Du for one episode or just a few scenes? The ARD response sounded almost like they will only switch temporarily. Which, of course, makes even less sense than stupidly sticking indefinitely with Sie just out of spite. But here's to hoping they'll do it right!

Yeah, we should probably send them flowers and chocolate and all that.

No, chocolate stays here! Crazy girl!

At least, this is getting more and more interesting. Creative, aren't they?

Oh God, no, please... no more creativity from the ARD, please! Could be dangerous.

Re: German air date

I also think, it will happen during the stag night and afterwards they'll return to "Sie"  . Though John's best man request would be a perfect opportunity to change their form of address.

Re: German air date

But the answer from the ARD doesn't really read as if it's only going to be a temporary thing, at least I don't read it that way.
It says that our wish will be fulfilled soon, and I think it's quite clear to them that our wish is not for them to say "Du" to each other just during one or two scenes.

Re: German air date

If they switch to "du" it should be a permant thing. Can't imagine a temporary version.

That would be the most ridiculous thing, imo.

Re: German air date

LOL! Yeah, anything other than permanent would be even more ridiculous than the Sie. I probably just read too much into it. We shall wait and see. Not that I really plan on watching the German version, but I'm sure you guys will report back. Or maybe I'll look at TSoT just for kicks, especially the Best Man scene.

Re: German air date

Today in the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung": A very nice review! They are talking about "television in perfection" (Fernsehen in Perfektion). The article is called "Er mag seine Ärzte lieber glattrasiert", and then it goes on like this:
Der Serie "Sherlock" gelingt mit der dritten Staffel das Unglaubliche: Sie ist noch schneller, witziger und intelligenter als die bisherigen. Das ist Fernsehen in Perfektion.

I'd say the author (Oliver Jungen) is a fan...
And okay, he gives away a bit too much of the story of TEH, but I guess nobody's perfect.
And I guess you can't be cross with someone who states that Sherlock and Watson "[werden] von Cumberbatch und Freeman so hinreißend verkörpert". He even writes something about Sherlock and John being a "platonisches Liebespaar". Well. I'm impressed. A bit.
