We watched a black and white movie from the 1930s the other day, an old production of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock, and he wore this same design of dressing gown--Â a solid color with a line of stitching down each lapel just like this. I wonder if the BBC wardrobe people did this on purpose, or if it was happy accident.
