Unfortunately not. But maybe I should test his reaction to "Vatican cameos".

The Hounds Of Baskerville » The first scene with Sherlock craving for a smoke/a case. » September 27, 2012 8:23 pm |
Interesting how other people perceived this.
When I watched that scene for the first time, my funny little brain immediately made up a huge backstory. In my opinion, when Sherlock said, "I need some! Get me some!" he was referring to drugs. I assumed he must have had a relapse into his drug problem sometime between SiB and Hounds and John helped him out of it. That must also be the reason why he takes stupid cases like the one with the pig harpooning, because boredom would surely make the problem much worse.
As drugs are not available, he starts to look for his secret supply of cigarettes so at least he can smoke to relieve his withdrawal symptoms. He doesn't find them and that is when he gets really nervous. But of course his work is still most important and when Henry finally appears with his "hound", Sherlock is happy and proves to John that he doesn't even need cigarettes anymore, indicating that the "hound" must be a very interesting case.
That was my interpretation. It's probably wrong, but that way all the fidgeting and twitching makes more sense.
A Scandal In Belgravia » "Sherlock fell for Irene" » September 27, 2012 7:51 pm |
I really admire how they managed NOT to answer all these questions in SiB.
It would have been so easy just to make Sherlock fall in love with Irene and keep everything simple. But to trick the viewers into believing that he loves her and then make them doubt it again and leave it open in the end, that is far more difficult. The writers and the actors did a great job there.

My favourite is this (from SiB).
Cutest little girl: They wouldn't let us see Granddad when he was dead. Is that because he had gone to heaven?
Sherlock: Peopledonotreallygotoheavenwhentheydiethey'retakentoaspecialroomandBURNED.
John: Sherlock!!

On a party yesterday evening I realised that I must be hopelessly obsessed.
First, I noticed a few nice looking young men and caught myself all the time staring at the least attractive one, only because I was fascinated by his striped jumper.
Then the band was playing. Their guitarist's name was Lothar. The singer addressed him very often, like "Lothar, it's your turn!" or "Lothar has to change his guitar for the next song." She pronounced it exactly like "low tar". So all I could think of was Sherlock's digusted face in that scene where Mycroft offers him the cigarette and he says "this is low tar". And suddenly, in the middle of the dancefloor, one man took a cigarette out of his pocket and started to smoke. I don't think he was allowed to do that, it's one of these law things ... But maybe he was just another Sherlockian and couldn't help it. I think even I started craving a cigarette after so many mentions of "low tar".
But running to the computer after coming home from the party at 3 in the morning to check the forum is not weird, is it?

Deadly, indeed. I always think, just one, just for fun - and end up spending hours watching random useless stuff. But everything that has either "Sherlock" or "Cumberbatch" in the title is worth wasting time on, right?

Hello!
During the past few days I have spent hours reading through this forum, so I thought I might as well register and say hi!
I live in Germany - I noticed there are some other Germans here around, how nice. I’m 28 and would never have thought that anything could turn me into a fangirl again, let alone get me to join a fandom, but obviously someone said "danger" and here I am.
I liked Sherlock a lot after watching it on German television, so I bought the DVDs and found it even better with the original voices, watched it over and over again … looked it up on the internet and found out there was this huge fandom and all that funny stuff going on …
On top of that, after making the fatal mistake of spending an enormous amount of time watching little videos on Youtube, I developed a severe case of Benedict Cumberbatch obsession. The effect that man and his voice have on my emotions is not normal and probably unhealthy, but I like it.
When not surfing the internet for silly videos, I normally work in an office, teach my old dog new tricks and like reading books, writing (not fan fiction ), drawing and many other things.
My English is probably only 62% accurate, I hope I didn’t make too many stupid mistakes.
