I just wanted to clear things up a bit with my post, so they don't get in the way of this new exchange.

What do you mean, nakahara, by exploding before it could be posted?
I´m reffering to a last year´s "Secret Santa". It was the first time I joined the exchange of fictions and I enjoyed it immensely until Christmas... and then I was left without a fic and only received one through the kindness of another member, Dorothy, a month after the exchange ended...
And it´s like that every time I really enjoy something. It gets screwed up like this at the end...
So I´m really hesitant to join... what guarantee is there that such things won´t be repeated?
nakahara, let me put it like this: it didn't get screwed up, I did screw it up. Big time.
I learned my lesson, and I promise I will not participate in a fic exchange anytime soon again (if ever). I'm terribly sorry you got the feeling that it's always you who misses out, and it makes me twice as sorry. (no big help, I know, but still true.)
I'm sure everyone out there is more reliable than me, so please, please don' t let this bad experience keep you from taking part!!
sorry for speaking up like this here, but I feel responsible for your hesitance and I don't want you to miss out because of my messing up
edit: just saw you are taking part. I'm glad.
It's Canon » Which story does this quote come from? » March 29, 2016 10:34 am |
Interesting. Googled it, it's everywhere - used by fans, printed on t-shirts... curious.
I'd also guess it's from a movie, but it's strange it doesn't appear as movie quote then. But I think only quotes appear that s.o. put online first. I suppose they don't put whole scripts online? Dunno.
Saw this and thought, maybe the quote is in the text in the picture? But I cannot read it. We could ask though ;-)
Also found this:
And stumbled over "Elementary". Is it used there?
It's Canon » Johnlock: The Official Debate » March 13, 2016 10:28 pm |
My first thought was: isn't the most possible scenario that the german media picks up hot topics from british media? I'm not entirely sure they came to this conclusion on their own, although it's of course possible. But if I had to write an article about something, I'd do research first. And would probably think: wow, that's a hot topic, I'll comment on it.
edit: If I think about it like that, maybe it's really difficult by now to find un-biased opinion on Johnlock. Still, I've got friends who haven't got a clue about Sherlock, watched the show and came out on both sides: one claimed there was definitely something going on between John and Sherlock, other one was totally surprised by this idea.
I wish I could go back and watch it all again for the first time :-) (not only for this reason :D )

I googled it. I think a blender is just the general food chopping thing, with a big plastic bowl. My smoothie maker has a plastic bottle instead of the bowl, with an additional lid, so you don't have to pour it into an extra glass. I think the plastic top is smaller in general :-)
Other » Chit-chat » March 12, 2016 7:47 pm |
I don't know what a blender is, so for all of my knowledge, it could be the same :D
What is a blender?

I really like that change. Lipstick would be funny :-)
Is anybody spending time in London around the weekend 19th, 20th of march?
Will be there a few days and maybe someone would like to meet up :-) I like
meeting people.
Did you know that buxing a Smothie maker can mke your life bright and happy? :D never thought I could love a thing like that, but I'm making Smoothies all day now and they're sooo delicious and cool! Best combination for me so far: banana, pine apple, kiwi. :-) :-) do you have favourites? do you like smoothies?
Current Affairs » Donald Trump » March 9, 2016 10:38 pm |
I haven't seen many interviews with Trump, just read them. Now I'm watching and I cannot believe how he talks so confidently and says nothing with it. He throws around big words, uses superlatives, and compliments anyone he has need of, but dismisses anything he's not interested in. It's scary. It's like he just laughs critics away, and keeps afloat on his cloud of selfconfidence... why does this work? He doesn't even proove anything, he just says it and then it must be true... and it works?
(That reminds me of Sherlock's Magnusson. Except Trump is all smiles while he is doing it.)
Actually, what exactly does he mean with "making America great again"?
What's his idea of that?
@tonnaree: travelling is always a good choice ;-) you're welcome
TV Programmes » Doctor Who » March 8, 2016 6:16 pm |
Yesterday I watched Dr. Who and realised for the first time that a line sounded very familiar. Can't name the episode though. It was definitely close enough to recognize the Sherlock ressemblance. So he is copying both ways, if I get it right?
Tbh, I think that's kind of normal. I wouldn't be able to keep apart all shows in m head. But yes, of course he could let s.o. check it.
Dr. Who is on TV here in Germany at the moment. Evenings, twice a week, 20.15, EinsFestival. If anybody didn't knew anyway :-) And I found someone who is kind enough to share some DVDs with me. I'm so happy to be able to catch up a bit now and be able to take part in this thread finally... :D

Current Affairs » Donald Trump » March 7, 2016 5:25 pm |
I was aware that he was around and, like many others, thought he was just a joke. When he got all that media attention and people actually started voting for him, I couldn't believe it.
The americans I know would never support s.o. like him, and I just wonder who these people are, or more like: what do they hope for? What agenda can they have? Are they desperate? Fed up? Are they just like him? Don't they know any better? What is in it for them?
Until now I was convinced they were a minority and in the end the sensible voices would win. Now I'm not sure anymore. We are deeply worried about it here, like Susi said already.
I remember what it was like when Bush was president. I never felt save. It was always like: please, don't do anything stupid, you've got far too much power for that. I know I'm more relaxed since Obama. It's not about agreeing with all things he does, but at least he doesn't seem like he would start a war over breakfast. I could imagine Trump doing just that.

It actually makes me feel better - does that make me a bad person ;-)
No, really, I also did this already as well. In my case I brought my sewing machine away to be repaired, took it home afterwards, and dropped it... breaking the light again. I just use it now that way because I can't be arsed to pay the repair again.
Laptops are quite expensive little toys... I feel with you. There is just too much that can break...
Ouch, life, it's mean sometimes *sniffs*
Thank you! :-)
and Benedict mouse mat sounds at least like a small little comfort... Benedict is always comforting, in any shape

Totally not my day. I booked sth and messed up a detail and now I probably have to pay money (quite a bit) to change it. I feel like hitting my head against the wall for an hour or so. Or better, days. Feeling so stupid. Stupid stupid stupid -.- For nothing!
I don't know how to not be upset, because it's absolutely my fault and I'm very bad at forgiving myself and say "shit happens". Please tell me you also already made stupid, unnecessary mistakes that cost you money. Because right now, I feel no one could be as stupid. I'd win a prize if there was a competition
