I never understood the hatred of clowns. It's just people in makeup. What I hate are mascots. You don't know who is in the costume and they try and touch you with out permission. It could be a friendly young female or some old man trying to touch you. You can tell a persons motive by their eyes and you can't see mascots eyes, clowns you can.

ginger, I admit I tended to agree with you, especially  when the episode ended on a sugary 2 men and a baby theme. I wondered if I would ever want to watch it again. When our local PBS channel reran it at midnight, I thought I'd see if it held my attention. It did. My interest and, yes, a genuine appreciation for, the episode increased  and I watched it all, catching more details than the first time through. Has hindsight altered or softened your opinion? I appreciate your honesty!

It still feels like a let down but I now like Mycroft more then I ever did. I felt this ep was like seeing the Matrix for the first time and thinking you knew where they were going to go and then you see the next two movies. I generally go back and watch the ep again right after I watch it a first time but this time I didn't. I did re watch the first 12 minutes up until the bomb went off in baker st. One thing I really liked about this show was how it used logic to solve its mysteries. It was why I could never get into Supernatural even though it has a huge following. I can turn off my brain and believe some things there is a point I just notice the errors. Sherlocks sister seems to have almost super powered level mind abilities which don't exist in the Sherlock universe. At least with Moriarty we know he didn't have a key to the whole city, he was blackmailing people. She was said to have the intelligence of newton but I don't see how that translates as evil. Maybe it was like in the play Wicked, 'Was she truly wicked or did she have wickedness thrust upon her'

Mycroft was the main plus to this episode. There are many things I didn't like but his character was great. I hope someone writes a character study on him.

The movie was one of the things I really liked about the episode. Of course he's be into noir film and femme fatales.

I was thinking the same thing, WhoIwantTobe , you'd have thought the clothes of the boy would have at least floated to the top.

It was almost like Scooby Doo where we're just suppose to accept the ending and how clever the characters are with only being given the bare minimum amount of evidence.
Why was lady smallwoods name different?
Is the sister controlling the prison now?
If so why is she even there?
All of that was decided in 5 minutes?

I liked the last 2 episodes. Season 3 felt a bit fan fiction with sherlock being all social but I was ok with it.

Ok, I'm not a fan of this episode. It started out well enough with Mycroft and the movie but as soon as they got to Sherrinford it was like they were going through a haunted house. Normally when I see a new episode I always think it's the best one yet so it's weird to feel this one has been a let down. And for the final episode. I don't know. If any one else want to rant feel free. If you loved it good for you but this is just my personal feelings.

Was there any point when Sherrinford was called a he? After last nights episode I got the impression that the mystery brother was just a mystery sister who was from Sherrinford. Now I keep reading rumors that there is a 4th sibling or a twin.
