No matter how you may feel about the episode or this season in general, "TFP" was a Mycroft lovers dream. I've always felt so much sympathy for him- all the immense responsibility he took on in his life. Keep Britain safe & secure, keeps his junkie brother from killing himself, keeps his mondo psycho sister locked up for everyone's sake, keeps the fact she's still alive from his parents to spare them more grief. All this with no thanks or gratitude from anyone, so why do it at all? Someone with no heart or emotions would never go through that kind of monumental effort. The range & depth of emotions he showed in "TFP" was amazing. Mark Gatiss is freeking brilliant & deserves some recognition for this episode alone. A BAFTA would be appropriate, methinks!

Wow, it took me all day at work to read the posts here! I'd sneak a pageful when I had the chance & drove myself crazy not being able to write in.
While I can understand to some degree why people didn't like this season/last episode/what have you, I thought "TFP" was incredible. Sure, if you use too much critical thinking you can see a couple of cannonball-sized plot holes. But why ruin such good fun? I just feel there is a particular segment of fans who would settle for nothing less than Sherlock & John shagging in front of the Baker Street fireplace & walking hand-in-hand to Harrod's to register for wedding gifts! While that makes for some darn entertaining  fanfic, it's not good drama or the vision the writers had. I don't clutch my couch pillow & rock back & forth pleading "please don't let (fill in the blank) die" like a mantra with any other show. For whatever reason, "Sherlock" touches on something deep in fans. And it's especially wonderful it works on so many wildly different levels!
But ultimately, it is a TV show. It is cracking good entertainment & one of the few shows that treats the viewers as adults & capable of taking the journey the creators envisioned. If nothing else, it should be given credit for that.

Just finished watching"TFP". My brain is a puddle of melted butter. If this is the end of "Sherlock", it really went out with a bang. I'm still processing what I just saw. Holy maloney.

I have been thinking that Sherrinford is a place since Mycroft made that call. Now with this possibly unhinged sister in the picture, my guess is a institution for the criminally insane (maybe she met Moriarty there?) or a prison-like facility.

I'm still of the opinion that "Sherrinford" is a place. Maybe where this possibly utterly criminally insane sister has been institutionalized? Maybe she was even the power behind Moriarty? I only know my head nearly exploded from all that went on in that episode!

Random thought whilst at my boring job at the moment- what if Sherrinford isn't a person's name but a place. Maybe it's that hospital they've been showing snippets of in the previews. Maybe somebody is there.....due to something Sherlock did? Does that grand house on fire also in the previews play into that? Or I may need a more interesting line of work to keep my mind occupied!  LOL

Somebody please explain sharks to me.  There have been shark hints for so long now, and now I've seen the episode, I still don't know what they're on about!

Sharks are apex predators...........like Moriarty?

Thanks, Vhanja!  I think I got kind of stuck on that image, but it made no sense that Sherlock would just calmly return to the place where he'd recently blew a man's brains out unless there was some huge significance. I've only had the chance to see the episode once so far (damn job anyway....LOL), definitely need another viewing! I did love him & Mycroft tussling for his phone in the beginning. No matter how brilliant they both are, deep down they're just 2 bratty brothers with each other.

Greetings to all!
My first post here because one thing is really driving me mad about last night's episode & need smart peoples' help!  Wasn't the exterior of the house where Sherlock was fighting AJ the AGRA agent CAM's house from "HLV"?
