The whole of the Sherlock fandom on tumblr these days is "if Johnlock isn't a real thing on your show, then your show is anti-gay and offensive." They're out of control over there and it's dividing a formerly friendly fan base and irritating the creators. Moffat and Gatiss are constantly saying how much they love the fans and everything they create, fan fiction and art and they encourage all of it including the Johnlock stuff and all the totally non-canon pairings, but saying "okay you can keep drawing/writing it all you want but our two main characters do not happen to be gay" is NOT ACTUALLY HOMOPHOBIC. You can't get what you want and force them to rewrite their characters and change the story by screaming 'MY FAN FIC IS BETTER THAN YOUR SHOW SO DO WHAT I SAY!!!1!!"

I can't get over the nerve of some of these people calling the creators anti-gay. Like, you do realize Mark is married to a man, right? For Christ's sake.

Agreed about tumblr lately- that's what drove me to look elsewhere, too! Haha, welcome fellow newbie!

I clicked on this not having the slightest clue where you could be going with it. But then I screamed because it's so cute. What's next on your list??

On the contrary, I think they should just hire you do to all the posters and teaser images from now on.

Why are reaction videos so fun?? I like these ladies. Somehow seeing drunk girls sobbing over the same things as me makes me feel justified in my emotions :D

I haven't listened to Tim Minchin in ages, but I have always adored Storm! Here's another brilliant little song no one seems to have linked yet... The music major in me knows how difficult this is and is torn equally between cringing and cackling... What a guy.

A quick scan of this thread (in case of spoilers :D ) has motivated me to try and start reading these again. I've started the first book a couple times and keep giving up around 50 pages in, it just feels so overwhelming with all these characters and places I can't keep straight. I shall give it another chance! I firmly believe anyone on a Sherlock forum must have good taste, so back I go.

^ I second the sense of achievement that comes with finishing a long book! I just got through David Copperfield and feel like I can conquer anything now. Ended up totally adoring the book and all the characters and look forward to reading more Dickens, but man the middle section was a long haul and I didn't think I was gonna make it!

Thanks all!! The new season can't come soon enough. I hear they're making a group-watch thing on Netflix where you can watch in sync with people and have a chat bar going- maybe a bunch of us can make use of that sometime. Looking forward to the collective gross sobbing that is going to take place here in 2017...

Hey fam! Been scanning these boards for news and speculation for a couple of weeks now and you guys seemed too cool not to join in the fun. I miss actively being part of a fandom; just Netflixing and squealing by myself isn't enough anymore! Some of my favorite memories of growing up were staying up with the forum friends all night dissecting every millisecond of each new Harry Potter trailer that came out, or whatever I was obsessed with at the time. I think we have a really special thing with Sherlock and it would be a shame not to enjoy it to its fullest- count me in!
