Yeah, female Dracula would be cool, too, but they might have an interpretation different than the one you predict, nakahara. We don't know what the plot will be yet. To be honest, I only know a little bit about the plot of Dracula from seeing Murnau's Nosferatu and the readings we did about what happens in the film and the book. I've never actually read it.

I'm not usually that interested in vampire stuff, either. Although I thought Jim Jarmusch's take on vampires in Only Lovers Left Alive was very good, I liked the movie quite a lot. But that's probably different from what this will be like.

And the first images for the new project appeared:

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

And this seems to be a new filming site:

I think I'd somehow missed that Jonathan Aris is in it!  The location looks suitably atmospheric.  I think this is going to be fun!  Thanks for the update!

About the filming - if this is about "Dracula", how long do they take? I seem to remember the pics from Eastern Europe posted around February. If I remember correctly, for "Sherlock" they needed about a month per episode, right?

Mark Gatiss will make also some Dracula documentary to accompany his new Dracula series:

Sounds interesting!

I will watch the documentary...well it's Mark!
I learned my lesson from watching the one he did on Euro horror.
Both my late husband and I hate horror and yet we both really enjoyed the documentary!

The history of it can be interesting even if it's not something you're a big fan of watching.

Indeed, he was also in A Confession with Martin, as was...David Nellist.

Interesting to see what kind of look and atmosphere they are going for. Not sure it's for me, though! The bit with the fingernail kind of grossed me out a little. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also curious to see more.

But I really do not think it is for me.

I also dislike gruesome stories - but I´ll give this one a go. I want to know what parts were filmed here in Slovakia.
