Thank you all!  I am honoured to be asked and will try to do the best job I can, with the help of the established, esteemed moderators.  I still think of myself as new, but amazingly, I have been here over two years now!  This seems to be a forum where people tend to stick around . I'm really looking forward to all the discussion we're going to have in January and beyond! 

Yes, Besleybean, IIRC we both went via Wales too!  It would be great to meet up next time you're down this way!

You'd be highly disappointed.  Nobody could understand me when I first moved away, so I've subconsciously modified it over the years, and ended up with some sort of hybrid, although people tell me they can still hear a bit of Scots!  And it comes back when I visit up there, or talk on the phone.
