The song and melody doesn't have to be sad for a song to make you cry... it's all about memory I guess...

Some years ago I had issues remembering my entire childhood, especially the happy times... I heard this childrens song on the radio and stuff came flooding back and to my surprise I knew the song by heart.

(It's in Danish... sorry!)

The lyrics is about a lonely centipede who grows up having no idea what he is... someone tells him to count his legs and he knows... he meets a spider and marries her...

How about 2 songs that always make me cry happy tears.

Taking You Home - Don Henley  This is number one on the list of mine and my husband's "Our Songs."

For My Wedding - (also) Don Henley.   This is the song I walked down the aisle to when we got married.

I love this song. But I'm sobbing even more when I hear this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY9dQ8hUi7U

Well, memories... is it the songs that make us cry, or the memories? For me it's these:

Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven (it's one of the most heartfelt, beautiful songs about huge loss that I know)
Ralph McTell - Streets of London (it's beautiful and yet so sad, and somebody I cared deeply about once sang it to me)
Simon and Garfunkel - I am a Rock (the lyrics get to me every time)

Beautiful songs. "I am a rock" is one of my favourites as well as "The sound of silence"

@This Is The Phantom Lady: Enya in general is very emotional

Oo… and I love the Sound of Silence!

There are many songs who makes me cry. Right now I remember the song "Why..." by a German formation called "Enigma". The lyrics always get me. Especially the part: Why it has to be like this... that the good one's disappear?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuV2ID4PVgA

Lyrics:
I was childish and unfair
To you, my only friend
I regret, but now it's too late

I can't show you any more
The things I've learned from you
'Cause life just took you away

I'm asking, "Why?"
I'm asking, "Why?"
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking, "Why?"

But someday we'll meet again
And I'll ask you
I'll ask you, "Why?"
Why it has to be like this
I'll ask you, "Why?"
Please give me an answer

Many years and stupid fights
Till we accept to see
How it was and it'll always be

Why it has to be like this?
Why we don't realize?
Why we're too blind to see the one
Who's always on our side?

I'm asking, "Why?"
I'm asking, "Why?"
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking, "Why?"

Just tell me why
Why it has to be like this
That the good one's disappear?
I'm asking you, "Why?"

I'm asking, "Why?"
I'm asking, "Why?"
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking, "Why?"

I'm asking, "Why?"
I'm asking, "Why?"
I'm asking, "Why?"
I'm asking, "Why?"
