Wow, some school in Virginia actually banned "Study in Scarlet"!

For alleged "anti-mormonism".

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

I would like to personally apologize for the random idiots in my country.

I'm sorry.

But look at it the other way and put a positivie spin on it: Being in the same (banned) group as Huck Finn, Catcher in the Rye, and Slaughterhouse Five is a great accomplishment!    (Though it still doesn't obviate the fact that those who object to these books being read by kids are idiots.)
