moriarty said that sherlock had choosen the building. so he choose a building that was tall enough to fool them all but if landed in the right position then sherlock had a chance of surving. mycroft aragnged for the wolrds best doctors to be at barts so that when he fell they could operate imedidatly. then mycroft would have them claim him dead so that everyone would believe it.

Sherlock practically bought himself back to life in season 3, he could have done it in season 2 aswell!
