I have a theory about PointyBatch.

Our Ben is still uncomfortable being in the spotlight. He's not one to try and be the center of attention. By pointing at whoever he's posing with he takes some of the focus off himself. It's also nice from a fan's point of view in that he's making a gesture to "include" them in the spotlight so to speak.
Makes sense to me.

I don't think it's because he's uncomfortable in the spotlight, I do just think he's trying to make it more personal for the other person.

I think he knows how much these photos mean to the fans, so he tries to make the fans the subject of the photographs. But it may just be as you say, tonnaree.

Once in a while I randomly wonder how many cameras Ben faces everyday. Must be a pretty tiring experience.

Definitely not as easy as it sounds. He's inherently so nice, after all, and he always sounds like he feels bad for turning down fans, especially when they've traveled so far/waited so long/sacrificed so much just to meet him for a few seconds.

Also, It will always be the one person he says "no" to that gets more attention than all the many, many people he says yes to!
I don't, personally, think he ever looks quite comfortable in photos, unless he's posing with someone he knows very well or when he's doing an official shoot, when he seems to slip into Actor mode!

Hello everyone!

Think this and the pictures thread will be busy tonight if you can all stay up - Benedict is strongly rumoured to be attending the MET gala tonight, kicks off about midnight in the UK, 7pm in NYC.

It's the fashion oscars kind if thing and people go to town on outfits. Dress code is white tie for the men.

SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!!!!

He did look great at the gala, but I was hoping he was then going to get ready to start filming LCoZ after this; he's reported as saying filming started in June, and I even found a quote from Robert Pattinson saying filming would start in July or earlier.
I found what looks like a recent interview with the director today though (sorry, I'm such a technophobe, I can't link it ), saying he might be ready to begin work on it in January!!!!
At this rate, it's really looking like Benedict will have no real projects this year
What's more, I now wonder if he'll make this Movie at all, since next year he might be too busy.
Crazy, isn't it?

I heared about that, too, and I really don't have the slightest clue what this would mean for "Sherlock" and his other projects...

No, me neither.
It seems like this year would've been OK for him to film Sherlock, but not for Martin (or for the writers, apparantly), and then next year he may not be so free, while others may be
And, if LCoZ drags on too far into next year, he may not be able to do that either, if it clashes with Hamlet and Richard?
I just can't believe that nothing has worked out for him filming wise so far this year - it felt like he was about to be rushed off his feet but it's been so very quiet for him, seemingly

Just can't be satisfying, wether for the fans nor, which is much more important, for Benedict himself. Can he really afford it, also from the financial view?
