Sherlock’s attempts to retrieve one of Magnussen’s files – on Mary Watson – took up most of a thrilling, complex plot, during which we learned Mary was a fake, an assassin, saw her shoot Sherlock and so on.

Safe to say the DM journalist is not an admirer of either Moffat or Gatiss. I've a feeling that the review would have read pretty much to same, no matter what was written. The journalist also seems to need a sense of humour transplant!

He missed quite a few of the plot subtleties as well.
