This was on the US version which aired recently:

Haha, this certainly is odd and also sort of cool. The only question here is why did they do this? Just to please themselves with the reference?

------------------------------------------------------------------

"When you walk with Sherlock Holmes, you see the battlefield" M.H.

"My brother has the brain of scientist or a philosopher, and yet he elects to be a detective...what might we deduce about his heart?" M.H.

"Home is now behind you, the world is ahead."

I guess so. Sort of an Easter Egg for the fans, perhaps.

It's one of the many reasons why I love people like Gatiss and Moffat.
(Needed a bit to grasp what you meant by "Easter Egg", sorry)

Can someone tell me what the secret message is? That video was too low res for me to make out the letters when they were red on black

I dislike being outnumbered. It makes for too much stupid in the room

That is not unique to Sherlock. They do that for all Masterpiece Mystery! programs. I noticed in other programs, before Sherlock even premiered.

And after I make two posts, I can post a link that briefly explains it!

MASTERPIECE | PBS (Masterpiece Theatre) The red letters that you see during the MASTERPIECE Mystery! end credits are sly references to the program that immediately preceded it. It's all in good fun, and we just want to keep you on your toes!November 2, 2010 at 8:07am · 10
