Here's something I didn't understand in the last episode of series 3 of Sherlock. When Mary was pointing the gun at Mergusson, why didn't she shoot him? I mean yeah I get that she shot Sherlock for him to shut up but afterwards, why didn't she shoot Mergusson and kill him? Was she afriad that when the cops come they'd suspect that Sherlock shot Mergusson? Was she afraid that one of his men would reveal her secrets after his death? What was she basically trying to do or prove? Was Mergusson essential for Sherlock at the time? If someone would just be kind enough to clarify what exactly happened that would be nice.
