You should add some of these ideas to the Be Like Sherlock thread: http://sherlock.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?id=378

In the few spare hours I have between Sherlocking and sleeping I have to work to earn a living. I work in a children's wear store but am seriously thinking of leaving. The money in retail is crap and my boss is a bitch. I suffer from depression which I usually manage through medication (God bless Efexor!) but I need my life to be running smoothly or I tend to go into a depressive slump. It runs in my family, both my now deceased parents suffered from it, undiagnosed but pretty obvious in hindsight, and my sister and brother both do. Anyway, how did I get here...oh, I know, life away from Sherlock. Sherlock and the internet provide a refuge for me from the real world, which I wish would just stop bothering me!

I know what you mean. The real world does kind of suck more often than not. I keep wondering if I say "nothing ever happens to me" enough times, will I get to meet someone really cool and go on adventures and finally do something interesting and fun?? I would love to meet a Sherlock or John type in real life!

I got to agree. I always want to go off on adventures with a friend. Even if one of our teachers turned out to be a serial killer or one of my friends works for a criminal organization...

Real life sucks....

Well - for me this is a hard one to write about.
When I am not Sherlocking I am either studying, working or volunteering.. my interests are reading, listening to music, playing the piano and saxophone, walking, sailing and baking.

I am currently a Forensic Science student, so most of my day is sort of Sherlock related at some point. *laughs* Some of the girls from the Sherlock Day for Undershaw and Baker St Babes were a bit jealous..but I am not at privelege to go into details on here - DPA and OSA

The daughter of some friends of mine is also studying forensic science at university in th UK. It is a difficult subject. Well done to you for sticking with it because I have known a few who have dropped out. Maybe they think it will be like CSI Las Vegas/ Miami/ New York all the time?

Hmm, interesting question... What do I do when I'm not doing Sherlock? XD

Well, mostly school, haha, though thankfully I'm almost done with that. Other than school, I play my piano (the Sherlock theme being one of my favorites to play... oops, does that count as Sherlocking, lol?), compose music, read... well, I TRY to read, I've been quite lax in my reading lately, and... hmm, hang out with friends, volunteer at my church, drink tea, write a bit, etc.

@Sherlock Holmes : Yes, I do that constantly -- I tell myself (and others) that "nothing ever happens to me", hoping that fate will feel slighted and hurry to make up for it. XD

@Anthea MI6 : That's pretty awesome! I've always been interested in Forensic Science and all that. :D But I don't think I'll be getting a degree in it because I don't think I'd be able to handle everything that goes into it. ;) I agree with Davina, good job for keeping at it! :D

@Davina - alot drop out because they think its like CSI but it is far from it...You have to study about 12 subjects then go into Legality etc.. its immense.
The practical aspects are yucky - dragging people out of the Thames, decomposing bodies, annoying DIs

I also play in a band - I am a singer guitarist in our Admins band - we are also very close buddies - we met at The Cavern in Liverpool where I used to run Rock and Roll shows featuring original contemporary bands of the 60s. We have played together for 5 years now and we have toured America twice - including a tour of Route 66 last year. I also do a bit of acting and had a bit  part in the first Sherlock movie (Guy Ritchie) when it was filming in Liverpool.

I was always into science - especially Chemistry in school and eventually graduated with a BA and  BSc(hons) in science. My ambition as a child was to be a forensic scientist but I got sidetracked doing other things...

I love watching Sherlock and am currently analysing all of the Canon scripts in the hope of becoming an expert (GURU) Our Admin is quite right about the need for courses in things Sherlockian - it would be awesome - I would also like to see somebody doing Mastermind with a specialist subject in Sherlock Holmes - I'm not that clued up yet - but there are some bright souls on the forum who seemed to well up on it.

WE have a great track dedicated to John Watson called "Johnny B Goode" which we should be releasinfg soon...

I write, poetry mainly, I'm not professional or anything though and I spend more time thinking about writing than actually doing it! ;)
I go to a lot of comedy shows and music gigs and I've just started getting into theatre and musicals, and I like travelling around to go to things.
Oh, and I like photography!

Hmm. I really don't know. Oh, I'm sorry, did I say 'know'? I meant 'care'. I don't really care.

Molly,  it's so great that you and YSH are here,   juggling both school and your love of Sherlock so well.  busy!

Me, it seems I'm always either straightening up the house,   walking the dog,  or collecting new cocktail recipes.

when I'm not watching our dear Sherlock,  I do card making.   It's just a hobby,   but sometimes it costs about 30 dollars USA  to make just ONE  card!!!  I  just got done making one for a graduate in my family,  and that card took abt 2 weeks to make.  (I  wanted it perfect, see?)  I  got into this hobby from a friend,  and I love it. Christmas is my fav time of year for making cards.   I  also put together jigsaw puzzles...I  LOVE   jigsaws.

I work for Mycroft No seriously I do secret stuff. When I am not being secretive I paint, crochet, act like a child, watch too much TV and films (actually scrap that, you can't watch too many films). I hang out on Sherlock boards? I frequent Twitter and play Binweevils with my mini me daughter.

I didn't see it either until I tried. I thought it had to be plainly boring, but believe me, it's become a drug to me
