Anytime you're in a restaurant with a group of friends and one of them goes to the restroom or bathroom (presume there are many nationalities involved in this AMA), tell the waiter that it's that person's birthday. Not only is it fun to embarrass the hell out of the poor victim, but you get free cake in the bargain.

And you seriously lucky guys.... ending that with seeing him on Norton! Ha... awesome. Now you just need to (paraphrasing him here) get yourself settled in comfortable chair in your bathrobe (other clothing optional ) with whisky (or just strong tea), a fire going, marmite on toast, and a good book (for in between commercials of having your eyes glued to watching him)
