When they first enter the bank there's a huge "42" shown several times. Is it the answer to everything? Or just a funny in- joke? ( since Martin was in "a hitchhiker's guide to the universe)

Possibly too obscure of a Douglas Adams reference? But I was thinking maybe they thought it might be funny since "42" is the answer to everything. Just another layer of subtext to add to your plate when trying to analyze every episode in minutiae.

Or, maybe I'm just over-thinking........

"Tower 42" is an actual skyscraper in the City of London.

Though, I like the reference to said "42". But this has to be a total coincidence imo.

John: "Have you spoken to Mycroft, Molly, uh, anyone?"
Mrs Hudson: "They don’t matter. You do."

I BELIEVE IN SERIES 5!

Ah..............NOW I understand! (I forgot that 42 was the answer to all questions.  )
Yes, I too think this is a coincidence.

Very cool! I had no idea. ... Also, just FYI, there's a Doctor Who episode named "42". Hmmmm...Wonder why the Brits have such a fascination with the number?

Is it nice not being me? It must be so relaxing.

An apostrophe makes the difference between a business that knows its shit, and a business that knows it's shit.

Don't make people into heroes John. Heroes don't exist and if they did I wouldn't be one of them.

There is no such thing as "over-thinking" in the Sherlock fandom. Just saying,

I thought it was the floor from Sebastian's office because of the "ding" sound. It reminded me of an elevator door.
