My email, for anybody who wants me to look at a fic is: besleybean@yahoo.co.uk

Hi besleybean,

I was just about to contact you again. Would you please be so kind as to have a look at my fic again. I've got some marvellous prompts and my head is already busy sampling ideas.

Apart from participating in the Marvellous Midyear Fic Exchange I'm also participating in Holmestice at LJ.

For that fic I'm looking for a beta (naturally) but also someone to bounce ideas with. Right now, with the prompts I've been given, I'm thinking: casefic, Lovecraft, Musgrave ritual, subterranean rivers and caves, Victor Trevor, secets from the past. Would anyone be willing to help?

That sounds very intriguing, DT! I don't know how much help I'd be with developing ideas, but I'm happy to listen to them and help with beta reading.

My offer goes out to the rest of the Midyear Fic writers too

I'll be emailing you, besleybean, since I've got a rough draft ready for beta-reading.

No worries.
Though it may not be looked at tonight...
Hollow Crown starts in half an hour! Ha.
My laptop's currently out of action, but I'm hoping this little net book can cope with the task!

As long as you've got a way to do it, that's the main thing.  I've emailed you, but I haven't yet sent you the attachment.  I'll do that now.

I always prefer if I can edit straight onto the document.
But I know on the last round I had issues opening fics in any format I could edit onto and had to resort to the old system: sending a list of page numbers with comments!

Well, mine's on a Word document, so we'll have to see if you have issues with that software.  I've sent it to you.

Phew! Well that worked fine, didn't it?
Well done, little net book!

Would any non-participants of the Midyear Fic Exchange like to beta read something for me?

I'm worried we're going to be short a fic, so I'm attempting to write something to make up for it... I'd really like someone to help me with ideas!

Ariane DeVere, any chance you'd be interested? I see your name as beta reader on a lot of AO3 fics I've enjoyed

If Ariane can't, or if you need two, I will.

You are such sweethearts, ukaunz and besley! Hug!

-----------------------------------

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?
