Thanks so much, tonnaree. Waiting ages if you know that it is already shown everywhere around is awful.

It must be so frustrating - fingers crossed you don't have too long a wait.

So if we are very lucky we finally might get a clip. Today Weinstein company is going to show a reel with clips from their oncoming films at the Cannes film festival:

Oh, that should be good
I'd love to see Benedict do a Shakespeare play for the big screen!

I thought that Hamlet will be only on theaters and only Richard III will be on tv. Are there any plans of showing Hamlet in cinemas?

Many plays are screened via live links these days.To be honest, I don't know for sure...but it's certainly a possibility!

I think I read something about it being filmed. But it would still be a filmed stage production. I think Tinks was talking about an original Shakespeare film made for the big screen.

Hope so! If not I probably won't be able to see it anywhere and that would be... well, bad for my culture development xD

Yes.  We need this.  For educational reasons.

It would appear a brief clip of the film was shown today at Cannes.
Some feedback already on twitter. Variety magazine gave it a -B , but also giving a film featuring Jake Gyllenhal's abs an A. Make of that what you will.

However daily fail's reviewer that broke the Hamlet news said it looked "brilliant".
