Thank you two.

The prompt (“What if John and Sherlock went to the same high school (in America) and didn't know it?”) has given me some hard time. I wanted to avoid teen!lock at all cost, and for two long, scary weeks I didn't have the slightest idea what to do with it.

Good work with a frankly awful prompt, Schmiezi.

I admit that I read it only because I wanted to see what you'd done with the prompt, but I got really drawn into it.
Can you have headcanon for somebody else's fanfic? If yes, I imagine that Sherlock went to the US because his mum was teaching at Georgetown University and John went because his father was stationed there as an army officer on some NATO project. Sounds wonderfully IC for everyone concerned without the need for any silly AU teenlock!

It's a bit of a spin-off from the discussion in the "Violence at the Reunion" thread where we agreed that Molly really should have known better. I'm sure she was completely aware of it, and I thought she deserved to make up with Sherlock before long.

In my head canon Sherlock's dad was sent there by the company he worked for. Mummy Holmes and little Sherl came with him, whereas Mycroft stayed at a school in England.
John was there as part of an exchange programme. His first change to get away from his family, something like that.

But I refrained from mentioning it on purpose, as it would have drawn the readers' attention away from the main idea of the story.

I agree that although your ideas make perfect sense, it would have been a pointless (or even distracting) over-explanation to include the details. Well done, again!

First time Johnlock (yes, both me and them)!

NOT fluffy and tender, I'm afraid.

And because I couldn't make up my mind which way it really happened, there is an alternative gen fic version that deals with the same issues but stays on the rails of canon-abiding friendship-only Nonlock.

Title: Means to an End (Not a Love Affair)

Summary:
Jim Moriarty is still out there. Mycroft Holmes is seething. And John Watson, who got himself dumped, fired and almost blown up all in a single week, decides to go away for a couple of days. Sometimes a small stone is enough to set off an avalanche. A danger night.
Set in the aftermath of “The Great Game”.

This is actually a crossover with Doctor Who and not a pure Sherlock fanfic, so I hope it's alright to post here. This is one of my longest fanfics to date, and my pride and joy at the moment. It's completed, so no need to worry about that.

Premise: What would have happened if the plasmavore had gone to St. Bart's hospital instead of Royal Hope Hospital? Rewrite of Doctor Who Season Three with Molly Hooper in Martha Jones's place as companion. Pre-Great Game for Sherlock, will include Sherlock episodes.
