Oh yes I know that, and I agree the summary turned me off, too at first.

@Susi: that livejournal is great isn't it, there are some stories that hasn't been posted on AO3 or ff.net, so it's good to keep an eye on this, too.

I'll give it a try. It sounds really strange, but I'm willing to take pot luck.

Something different for a change - an ACD Canon Johnlock Post Reichenbach fic. Well written, true to the style of the canon. Warnings for explicit language and adultery.

To access the sequels in these series you just click on the double arrows in the series name. So for this one, it's The Faithful Compass series.
The next one is One Fixed Point in a Changing Age

This part is very good but sadly still in progress. I hope she updates regularly. The beginnging was a bit confused but then it got better and better. Some really heart-wrenching scenes.

If you like to read something funny, I can recommend this one:

Sherlock and John in a pub playing a drinking game.
I put it here because it's pre-slash and also part of a trilogy which then turns into slash. I stopped reading after the second part though, because it was just not as good as the first one.

Susi - I've read through Part 2 of this story and I really like it.  It is amazingly well written - language and style is very canon.  I really do think that pro writers sneak in and put stuff up on these fiction sites.  Hmmm.....I wonder if Mark Gatiss could have written this one!

Does anybody have a recommendation for me?
I've run out of stories...

Musts:
no Post-Reichenbach
no AU
no bdsm/spank/incest/non-con etc (The Thing Is was still ok for me)
explicit, but not PWP

Would be happy with (but not a must)
comedy
fluff
angst
long stories

Eventually everyone will support Johnlock.   Independent OSAJ Affiliate

... but there may be some new players now. It’s okay. The East Wind takes us all in the end.

What about "I've got my eye on you" by sevenpercent? It's a WiP but nearly complete and tells the story of how Lestrade met Sherlock and how their relationship developed. Non-slash, not really AU as it keeps to the known Sherlock universe. There are two non-slash sequels with Sherlock and John as well. I think I recommended it in the non-slash thread.

And you should read "Given in Evidence" by verityburns if you haven't already. It is Post Reichenbach but that's only about 5 % of the story. It concentrates on the development of their relationship after they meet again. Very intense and witty and very well written.

I keep thinking the same when reading authors like verityburns or ivyblossom or mad_lori. It's a great way of doing something totally different from what you usually do, maybe even in another language.

Thanks, Susi - hmhm, no Post-Reichenbach (anything after 2/3, no "Pre-Pink", please - there, I found a new word!
I'm really picky, I know

However, no need for a washing machine

Have a look through the Master list. A lot of the one-shots seem like they would fit. There are summaries and some warnings. If one sounds good just check the warnings on the actual fic page. Also check out the non-slash rec thread.

Edit: you could also make a request on one of the prompt sites or the kink meme. EG http://www.fanfiction.net/forum/BBC-Sherlock-Prompts/80903/

Did you read the madlori story where Sherlock is a singer and John didn't know it? Not very long, the only sex is a kiss, and she gives pointers to the actual music so you can go to dream-land and pretend it's Sherlock singing. Lovely. Technically, of course it's an AU, now that I think about it, since we've gotten no gleaning in canon that Sherlock sings. I don't know how to find it, though. Maybe someone here will.

It's called Senza Catene and is only posted on her LJ.

Edit: How the hell did I become an expert at locating Johnlock fanfic?!!
