All the best to you, QE, get well soon. As long as you are still able to read Johnlock fanfics …

Now I'm getting really curious. I guess I only read part of it, too.

... it can't be that bad, I know. No, it's something rather harmless, thanks.
And the fic is still good in chapter 3. Thermodynamics will be the next one for me, then. I'm curious, too.

Read Thermodynamics, all parts. Very funny and heart-warming.

Please supply a link for any story recs, and it'd be nice if you gave everyone an idea of how long a story it is, if it's Johnlock or not, whether or not it's an AU, etc.  Thanks.

I just read this one and couldn't find it on the master list, so I'll introduce it here:
Wholocked, maybe you can add it to your masterlist.

A long Johnlock fanfic from Sherlock's POV. Set after TGG, I suppose. They investigate some cases which reflect on and influence their developing relationship. Emphasis on Sherlock's difficulties in opening up towards John, losing control, giving in to feelings. The characters are well-drawn, the writing's really good.
No warnings given by the author, but sexually explicit content.

Done

I know I've read that one not sure why I didn't put it in here. But then if I put every semi-decent fic I've read...well, maybe I should do that hahah

I love Sherlock POV fics, they're so rare. Especially good ones. Anyone got any more?

This one sounds really good. Thanks for the rec. AFAIK, I haven't read it.

I have my face in a 25-chapter novel called "Be Here Now" by todesfuge that I think someone here on the list rec'd recently. Wow, if the author's not a professional writer, she should be. I'm about 18-20 chapters in and loving it-- lots of love between the guys, lots of angst, lots of action/adventure, a wonderfully large and believable part for Irene Adler, wonderfully developed and interesting/intriguing original characters (including a heroic military dog named Lupo who's attached to a Navy SEALS team), a super-perfect Mycroft who loves his prickly brother to death and wants to protect him (does his best!) but is always bouncing his good intentions off Sherlock's "leave me the hell alone" attitude. *Everyone* loves and respects John in this story, which pleases me no end. And thank God Mycroft has come to be very fond of him, otherwise John might have found himself on the bad end of an assassin's bullet-- it's happened to one of Sherlock's lovers in the past. Eeeeek.  I'll talk more about this later, when I've finished. This might be the best S/J fic I've ever read.

I think "Working it out" it should have a warning for spanking, though

... but there may be some new players now. It’s okay. The East Wind takes us all in the end.

OK, I just checked to see what the warnings were on the fic, and right at the beginning it says "Please note that I have chosen not to use any warnings."  Odd. But when she said that, in effect that's a warning right there, I suppose. If someone is a "gentle reader" and knows there are certain places they'd rather not go, I guess it's best to just skip such stories. Sometimes you can go by the overall rating, too-- if it says "adult" or "mature", and the author is already warning that she doesn't use warnings, that might make even me run away, lol.

I wish to trust that people who put up no warnings actually have no reason to put special warnings.
Actually, it seems to work with most of them.
So, for us here, I put this warning up. Nuff said

I'm currently reading The Circle of Fifths

It's a five part series, parts 2 and 3 are 14 chapters each; parts 4 and 5 are WIPs but you can read the first three parts on their own. It's a post-TRF case fic. Johnlock/first time but no slash (yet - but I haven't started on parts 4 or 5 yet!)

There are some nice twists in the stories. I've enjoyed it. Sherlock is a bit ooc, but I've decided that's pretty much a given with a Johnlock fic since the whole Johnlock relationship idea is pure sentiment ;)

Sorry, I forgot to mention this. I somehow filed it under "sexually explicit". But it's true, there should have been a warning.

That's alright, Susi. I think it's in fact helpful to add such info here, but basically the writers should give info along with their story, and be it only in significant tags, as most of them do.

Just a note to add my recommendations to everyone else's for todesfuge's Be Here Now
http://archiveofourown.org/works/468714/chapters/810005

Heed her warnings if you are a gentle reader. Sex-wise, it was pretty vanilla, but there's some drug and torture stuff in there that could be hard to read for some. I just take it as the fiction it is and don't have a problem with any of that stuff, but I certainly can see how some might.

I think what impressed me the most was her adept use of original characters-- they were fabulous, fully thought-out and presented, and she did well wrapping up their stories by the end as well. I loved her Irene, Lestrade, Mike Stamford, Molly and Mrs. Hudson as well. This gal is a real writer.
