I only recently started watching the show, so I apologize if this is a dumb question, but in Reichenbach Fall, Sherlock answers "You" when Molly asks him what he needs. Initially, I thought that was him expressing his feelings for her (I really wanted it to be that, anyway), but now I'm wondering if that he just means that he needs her in order to pull off faking his death and nothing more?
Also, is Sherlock's definition of "mattering" or "counting" more along the lines of being crucial or important to beating Moriarty, and less of "mattering" or "counting" in the emotional sense?
In addition, in the Season 3 trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UcR9iKArd0) that was recently released, Sherlock responds "The one person he thought didn't matter at all to me, was the one person that mattered the most" when John asks "why he did it." I assume that Sherlock is referring to Molly being the one person who matters most. However, when Sherlock is explaining himself in the trailer, the timing is such that his explanation begins with a shot of Molly (at 0:14), but ends right as John is walking into 221B (at 0:19). It could just be coincidence, but it makes me second-guess who the person is that he can't live without (John or Molly?). And if it is Molly who he is referring to, then why did he have to fake his death to protect her?
Sorry for the numerous questions. I hope I explained it enough.
