Oh yeah, that's exactly what I mean! You make a lot of good points, and the most startling ones too - I haven't thought there'd be a time when my kid wouldn't want to watch stuff with me, but you're, sadly, right.
On the other hand, my dear husband had troubles understanding and enjoying the finer points (rolls eyes), and he's slightly better versed in the canon and the UK culture to get more references than my 8 yo... ;)
